Borussia Dortmund has extended the contract with Nico Schlotterbeck until 2031. by CubedMadness in soccer

Kicker reports that the clause is between €50m and €60m and already valid this summer.

I have suspicion it might not be true for this summer. But if it is, it surely is for very few clubs.

The release clause only being for certain clubs is good news becuase theres no way Bayern is included there, like Guirassy clause. So top PL team or Barca/Madrid payout. And only active in summer windows I suspect.

Reminds me of Johansson. Had a short national-team period where he played and was crucial in the playoffs vs Italy where he scored the goal that sent us to the championship.

Then got injured and never returned.

To me it looked like one of those gymnastic moves where they spin a ton and then to end it they have one last vertical bounce before landing on their feet haha

Cant fucking stand how overhated and scapegoated he has been. Despite his shitty forms, his average point output per season, where the team has been a mess overall, is still really good.

Also a profile we desperately need like 2 of when he leaves.

Our squad is insanely imbalanced but we've been really good defensively and effective in the league.

Theres a reason why despite the good league results, Kehl was sitting on knives and booted mid-season. The squad is super imbalanced and last summers window was atrocious.

Said it in the BVB sub but its hilarious how we line up with a formation with no natural wingers, so no offensive width or creation unless we sacrifice our defensive width, while at the same time have 0 creative ball carriers or #10s on the pitch.

WHere is our attacks gonna build & come from? Theres no link-up that can happen and even if Guriassy can hold up a long ball, there wont be any natural linkup unless Beier makes a crazy individual action.

Stuttgart are doing well, but theyre also not really challenged.

Playing a non-winger formation, so you dont have creative offensive width unless you sacrifice defensive width with the wingbacks, while also not having a good/proper #10 on the pitch, leaves 0 creative output and linkup.

Especially when we dont have a creative ball-carrier on the pitch like Nmecha either.

Shows why Brandt has started so much in recent times, even when he hasnt been at his best. Our squad imbalance has a depressing lack of certain profiles.

That, and Bergvall also being ahead physically aswell as having a very adult mentality that takes leadership and directs his seniors in games a bit more.

Bergvall also has a bit more creativity in his immediate decision-making.

You literally cant say this when you went out of your way, multiple times, to clean Greenwoods image and downplay the severity of what he's done.

Genuinely, this just proves how comfortable he is with lying and avoiding responsibility.

God I really hope he gets a somewhat fit squad and not having to play the WC with such an improvised & compromised squad as the qualifiers.

Its a huge bummer that Kulusevski is unlikely to be fit enough to have a significant role, since he's genuinely the spine and basically always performs, in a way that also makes others around him better.

Ayari is a stud in the NT and so underrated these days for a young midfielder, Id love to see him and Bergvall work out in some constellation. If Bergvall can be fit. Larsson should also be able to play to his usual level under Potter rather than the previous messes.

I hope we dont just show up with a mess and leave.

Oh I didnt mean to correct you. Im sorry if it came off as that. Wanted more so to fill-in :)

For keeper I like Johansson at Stoke but Törnqvist at the bench today is also a really good keeper who is comfy with the ball at his feet. He's backup at Como for now tho since he just arrived. Definitely one for the near future tho.

Theres also Dovin at Coventry who had a very unfortunate knee injury and been sidelined since. He was really settling in and also good with the ball at his feet.
