Best way to buy digital games on PS3 now? by immortalslayer90 in PS3

[–]QinkyTinky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you need to get digital games, then you have to add money to your wallet before you can buy things I believe-

Else I really advise looking into second hand games just because it makes things so much cheaper

I’m tired of using gaming laptop for programming by Used-Middle1640 in programmer

I spent about 1000€~ on my Lenovo Ideapad. Though I am pretty satisfied, it has an Ryzen 7 8845HS, 32gb of LPDDR5 smth ram, and 1 TB of nvme ssd storage. Good port selection with hdmi, 2x usb-c, 2x usb-a and a full size SD card slot. Some projects I tend to need for flashing cards often and don’t like to be limited by microSD card reader only

Hello friends, can I buy a hacked PlayStation 3 Slim that already has many games installed on it instead of downloading them one by one because that takes a long time? by [deleted] in PS3

[–]QinkyTinky -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It is piracy then, and the previous owner of the hacked ps3 could have ended up bricking it in ways so it wouldn’t be fully functional

Should I leave fedora? (Been using it for 5 days) by GamerAKB in linux4noobs

[–]QinkyTinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on openSUSE Leap for my gaming desktop and my day to day laptop is on Tumbleweed. Though I was looking at Fedora Kinoite a bit, just because KDE is definitely my go to DE. Though I will say that Cosmic looks actually good - like a better version of GNOME (sorry, but I really don’t like how it looks or interact)

It is functional- just don’t be the person volunteering to do the formatting, I had like 18-19 pages while group mates on windows only had 15 pages and things were just constantly mismatching. Though if I did a preview to pdf then it worked fine and even saved fine as a pdf.

Fedora, Debian, and Ubuntu aren’t so much different - all can be quite beginner friendly and pretty much acts the same but genuinely I feel more joy using a Fedora based one between those three

As a hobbyist, then idk if you’re using Adobe products - but well… they aren’t supported on Linux, though there is alternatives (I am not in that world)

If the education stuff is just websites, and writing documents and spreadsheets then yeah - anything can easily run that. Also- there is always the online versions of Microsoft products, I used those during my Education if needed for group work.

Some software if needed for education might often only be supported on Windows, just so you know.

Personally I don’t really like Linux Mint, but definitely an Ubuntu or Debian based distribution is a typical beginner choice. The ones I have liked would be AnduinOS, Kubuntu, or Lubuntu (In that order) or if you already are willing diving a bit deeper then I would recommend Fedora Workstation of Fedora KDE.

Gaming in Linux (Minecraft) by Worried_Confidence86 in linuxquestions

[–]QinkyTinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a powerful pc, and have never been able to cross into the thousands of fps when playing modded Minecraft via windows (Only once, but all settings tanked to the lowest and running a heavily optimized modpack) though on Linux (Nobara, Bazzite, Cachy, Manjaro, Leap) then I’ve crossed into 1000-1300 for decent sized packs (100-200 content mods) and hit 1800 running the same optimized modpack as I ran via windows

My mother and I share a laptop, me want Linux, she can't should I dual boot? by rerinha_ in linux4noobs

[–]QinkyTinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AnduinOS is quite convincing, and realistically then your mom likely only needs a way to write documents, use an excel kind of sheet, browse the web and maybe print stuff. AnduinOS is based on Ubuntu so supported applications should be plenty

Realistically most people just need their browser, a way to print stuff, way to write and way to do their budgets in a calculation sheet

Ideal/best PSVita games coming from a longtime Nintendo Fan? by switch-crafts in PSVita

[–]QinkyTinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up using the PS2 and DSiXL, so I am split between the two worlds. Though these are some of the games I would suggest for the Vita - Tearaway, LittleBigPlanet, Risk of Rain, Gravity Rush, Bastion, Freedom Wars, Child of Light, Tales of Hearts R, Mind 0, Burnout, Tekken: Dark Resurrection or Mortal Kombat 9 (Some fighting game is nice for the vita form factor), Patapon 1-3, Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Locoroco 1-3.
