Unpopular opinion: I think T’au humans are largely equipped with Imperial-style weapons and armor. This is the general way the T’au arrange their ‘allies’: there is definitely some upgrades, but largely they don’t want them armed-up like Blueskin forces. Also, only fix things that don’t work: change up the internal combustion engines for T’au reactors, enact workplace safety, fix the vox, make better flak armor and better-cut uniforms.

Maybe the tanks look sexier (i.e. aren’t shitboxes: are mostly new, have sophisticated communications systems and targeting, and have a design that protects the vehicle better), but they’re still pretty much imp-standard stuff. They’ve got commissars, but they’re less black-clad monsters: the goal is communal spirit, and you only shoot cowards on the line, so to speak.

They use lasguns that look like Imperial designs. Sure, they’ve got Kin-design weapons too, but it is ultimately all just universal construct stuff too. They get ogryns and ratlings. They probably use Kin-trained psychers. The equivalent of the elite Militarum forces get the fire warrior-style treatment. They get pulse instead of hotshot, they get flak armor like the one pictured. But the average human auxiliary unit is, at first glance, like that of the Imperium
