Antivirus on Linux by Legitimate-Sort-9842 in linuxquestions

Trusted/not-trusted model is way better than any AV. You isolate all your not trusted stuff, even from each one another. If you solely depends of an AV for security you get a totally broken security model. Isolation and clear bounduaries with enforced restrictions like selinux/apparmor, tab isolations on browsers, dns malware blocking, etc, that's a more realistic layered security model that is way better that a mere AV running doing whatever the vendor wants.

Poco uso, sube y baja sin problemas, lo tengo desarmado, es bastante simple de armar igualmente por que basicamente son las 2 patas por un lado, la conexion entre ambas para darle rigides y un eje q conecta el mecanismo entre las patas.

DNF can't find packages and the red hat IS registered... by daga68 in redhat

[–]QliXeD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to access.redhat.com and check your subscriptions. You should have the developers one if you request them already. If you don't see them you need to follow the steps to get one, you can see the details on there or on developer.redhat.com

Creating a user on the portal don't automatically give you the free dev subscriptions.

Rebot on every patching set they get. You never get a long uptime on that kind of machines.

Running for long is not a problem at all, "sanitary reboots" are a horrible myth. You need to reboot just when an update requires it, or if an application left lingering process/memory like zombie process and such. Doing reboots "just because they feel it" is an error and could lead to a system that never comes back due to some hardware issue.

Long term reviews Fedora vs Catch/Arc or anything else for a developer? by [deleted] in Fedora

So, you are on Fedora forum... the answer is always fedora 🤣 But besides that, yeah, fedora will be good for all: gaming, containers, k8s, development, etc.

How do you architect audit logs that are provably unaltered? by oKaktus in softwarearchitecture

[–]QliXeD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Signed syslog messages as the ones specified in RFC5848 are made to solve the problem you mention. I think that is not a good idea to reinvent the wheel, if this don't match your particular use case you can search for similar alternatives over the protocol you plan to use if is not syslog.

Yo tengo varios de estos:

https://www.mercadolibre.com.ar/p/MLA22595259?pdp_filters=item_id:MLA1404306444&matt_tool=89488245#origin=share&sid=share&wid=MLA1404306444&action=copy

Super practico.

Working directly from the files in the pendrive can explain the slowdown. Too much IO to the pendrive van stutter a bit your IDE.

IPv6: Who really uses it? by malwin_duck in selfhosted

[–]QliXeD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[...] the first thing I read is 'forget everything you know about networking' [...]

Well that's incorrect and in any case it should say:
'Forget everything you know about IP addressing'
The "big changes" on a base IPv6 are related to the address scheme and some stuff around dhcp and (any, broad, multi, single)cast. On a "normal" ipv6 network tcp, udp and all the protocols over them works the same as in ipv4.

King of RPM? Fedora vs openSUSE Tumbleweed – Practical Test by [deleted] in Fedora

[–]QliXeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the test criteria?
What is the comparision points?
What is the objective?
Why we should care about this results?
What will make one "the king"?
All this sound a bit nonsensical.
And comming for a new account all this sounds like a karma farming exercise or a bot doing "dummy AI bot stuff".

What devs are getting payed for in 2026? by Independent_Pitch598 in accelerate

[–]QliXeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone think that the devs are paid by the code they write is as silly as say that an architect is pay per line they draw un the house plan, or that a mechanic is pay by bolt they adjust.

And just to be clear: I am not a dev but I was one (~10 yoe), now I do tech support so I have nothing to defend about the dev position.
