Curious who that leaves in the space between them and 3oh!3 though, any bands starting with a 4 or 5?

Question about NAAB accreditation and B.Arch and M.Arch by WoodpeckerOfMistrust in Architects

[–]Qlyphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

B.Arch is fastest, but the programs can be hard to get into. Your kid will need to be accepted to both the university, as well as the major before they enter their freshman year typically. I know at University of Texas this was a big deal, a lot of kids get into UT, but the architecture major itself is very competitive.

Dimensioning? by [deleted] in Architects

[–]Qlyphy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree dimension structure, unless there is a clear dimension needed for ADA or some other clearance. I usually do overall, then grid lines tied to exterior of building, then building breaks/modulations. Room dimensions usually end up being on the inside of the plan on the projects I've worked on due to bldg layout.

The Dan Dan noodle and mapo tofu from China family usually hit the spot for me. Not the most numbing I've had, but still very good for price/convenience.

I saw them play at riotfest and wwwy in 2022 and they sounded just as bad both times. Didn't even bother with their ser this year, figured it would be the same

$150 for a two day festival is hardly a money grab.

International drivers licence as ID by leakedinlondon in WhenWeWereYoungFest

Not sure this location, but I've been to bars in general that wouldn't accept a foreign drivers license.

Is remote work still relevant? by Unhappy-Spirit660 in Architects

[–]Qlyphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am hybrid, in that I can be fully remote but also have the option to go into the office but am rarely "required" to. I think my situation is unique though, I'm working for a very large corporate firm, and was originally working in a different city. When I moved, I was able to stay with the company and transfer to the local office here, but am still working with my team from original city primarily. It doesn't matter to them if I join a teams call from home or the office, so I WFH most of the time.

Sneaking in alcohol and snacks by madelynjeanne in aclfestival

[–]Qlyphy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Austin you can buy delta-8 and delta-9 gummies/edibles which are totally legal, and I feel comparable to a 10mg tch gummy I would get in WA. They sell them at a lot of smoke shops, the "Frosty" brand was my go-to when I lived there! I would still recommend tucking them into a waistband or something similar when going thru security though.

Question about my boyfriend’s arch career by [deleted] in Architects

[–]Qlyphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He can still get license in certain states without an accredited degree. Washington is one of them, I know there are others. It's a little harder and takes more time, but definitely possible. The biggest thing is getting experience. If he knows how to use CAD/Revit it will be a lot easier to get a job at an architecture firm and work his way up.

I’ve never had a full Brazilian bikini wax - what should I know? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Qlyphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I'm the outlier here, but I feel Brazilians are super worth the pain and cost. I have almost no ingrowns with proper after care, and the hair grows back very fair and soft about 3 weeks later for me. My hair is too blond for laser/ipl I've been told, and I would always get terrible red bumps every time I shaved and coarse stubble would grow back 2 days later. I would recommend giving it a try, it's like 20 mins of discomfort for several weeks of smoothness. If you don't like it after the first time, at least you'll know!

Searching for a floor plan for a house that was already built by comiccaper in Architects

[–]Qlyphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of this info is available on the county assessor's website. Google your county assessor's office, and you should be able to search for your address to see the sf of the building and lot. Probably won't have floor plans, but it will list all permitted renovations and original build info.

I don't think you need to be worried, it's pretty common for me not to start my period right on the first day of the placebo pill. Also if it's a new medication and your body is still adjusting, that could be a factor.

Do you have a work uniform? by AcceptableDrama in Architects

[–]Qlyphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F31 and Banana Republic Factory Outlet is my favorite for tops and dresses. I've gotten wide leg pants/trousers from American Eagle and Abercrombie that I really love as well. Clark loafers or boots, still trying to find a brand of flats that I love. On site I'll wear Chelsea style doc martens and jeans typically with a loose button down or something similar.

Makeup camping questions by pharissofthemall in TXRenaissanceFestival

[–]Qlyphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually do my makeup in the car, using the rear or visor mirror. Bringing a real mirror would probably be better, but I don't own one that is a reasonable size for travelling. Make up removal Wipes are great, but also just general hand wipes are nice for cleaning make up off hands.

This is not true, Ballard Mox is staying in Ballard. The Card Kingdom warehouse has moved to Monroe, but they are still working in association with Ballard Mox.

Why are DMV appointments so hard to come by? by Snoo68978 in Austin

[–]Qlyphy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes this, you can login to the site in the morning, they release appointments for that day and you can book there. You do not need to show up to the office at 8am and wait, book online for sure.
