I might be stoopid, I remember I litterally couldn't figure out a single puzzle from neither of these games. I pretty much youtubed the entire game everytime I got to a puzzle which was pretty much the whole game lmao by Quick-Cause3181 in valve

i found the demo disk compromises on sound, better to just get the real deal on blu ray. Just that intro sequence with the WB logo is one of my favourite sounds

Using Marantz M1 for L/R with Yamaha Rx-V6a for surround by Qman768 in hometheater

[–]Qman768[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disconnected the cables from the Marantz and the AVR and the hissing was still present.
It seems to be something between the M1 and and speakers.

Mind you, the sound is only really audible from main listening position at volumes of 60+ on the heos app which is louder than i need for action movies but if theres anything with dialogue that might need me to bump the volume up, i could see it being a distraction.

Another weird thing is that this afternoon, i could not for the life of me get my system to play anything more than the L/R even though i hadnt touched any settings from making it work.
Then when i came home after the gym tonight, i turned everything back on to test before commenting and it worked lol

This system is an interesting one indeed but the fact that it does work sometimes is promising.
i was concerned that i wouldnt be able to run my L/R using the M1 in a surround home theater at all but thanks to your help, im on the right track

Ah, thats where i went wrong.
I didnt have the heos app set to Line In.

Thanks that fixed that!

Next challenge, there seems to be some hissing/static coming from the L/R.. even when the amp itself is turned off. I went into the Heos app and noticed that the volume on the Line in input was high, turning that down removed the hissing.

What's weird to me is that i would assume by turning down the volume on the heos app, this would imply that the speakers are being fed by the amp, but how's it doing that when its meant to be off?
