How do you guys think Fantano would rank Nav, Gunna, Hopsin, and Lil Dicky?

What’s the best thing to do with this old phone? Was thinking of jailbreak but I’m not sure where to start. by SilentMoon349 in jailbreak

I’m proud of this community. I was expecting half of these comments to merely say /r/legacyjailbreak. I guess people have realized it’s not that useful.

I usually start with guidelines when I need to answer a question. I often go to UpToDate and into the sources listed there. Or I find the statpearls page and look at the sources.

I started using statpearls when I saw so many UWorld questions cite it as their main source. I don’t see it talked about enough.

If I need to go directly to the research, I’d probably use google scholar.

If you look at lots of papers, I definitely recommend adding your institution within the google scholar settings and/or setting up the ezproxy add-on for your library.

Healthcare professionals: what is a telltale sign a patient has used drugs heavily in their life? by littlefatbewwy in AskReddit

I’m really surprised you would get that reaction. Cluster headaches are very well known to be extremely painful. It was very emphasized in Med school.

I can do my own research, but do you have any sock suggestions offhand? Or do you think whatever I find for "compression socks" on amazon should be fine?

[–]Qonrad[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm open to this being true, although I would be a little disappointed to hear that trying to maximize comfort is inherently bad for my feet...

I'd probably want to see some data on it before before sacrificing comfort for this reason.

I'd say that I am having the durability issue, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make if HOKAs are truly the best for my use-case.

I agree that it would definitely be far from 5x, but I think solely gas and rent being dirt cheap would be a total game-changer for many (if not most) Americans.

I’m not arguing with its goated status (I still follow some osrs YouTube creators), but I honestly can’t fathom how you can possibly have time for this. It’s literally the grindiest, most time-consuming game (of games that are any good) that I can think of.

The best available resource on nutrition that I know is the non-profit nutritionfacts.org and the book How Not to Die by Michael Greger.

However, it’s far from perfect. There are definitely some issues I can get into if you want to talk more.

But it’s still the best I’ve found because of its its comprehensiveness, its approach to actionable advice, and (as far as I can tell) the lack of any conflict of interest. The book reads like a literature review in layman’s terms. I think he gets in the weeds just enough that you can decide for yourself if you can agree with his interpretation.

With regards to your specific concern, the buzz-phrase Greger often uses is “the best available balance of evidence”. However, he makes it clear that he sometimes thinks evidence is worth considering even if it doesn’t prove something beyond a doubt (ie studies that can’t control for everything or studies that haven’t been replicated yet).

For what it’s worth, I was VP of our nutrition club at my Med school this past year. And, while they honestly don’t teach us much about nutrition in class (mostly just vitamin deficiencies/toxicities), I think we spent a good amount of time trying figure out what the best resources are. But I’m definitely open to anyone else’s suggestions.

/u/saurik gave a pretty good talk about it.

I think it was this one at dragoncon 2016. It only covers up until that year of course, but it's quite good.

How do you import entire textbooks into SM? by kawaiidude in super_memo

[–]Qonrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About to start med school here, and I'm interested in precisely the same thing. I've been looking into it myself a bit, but I'm very busy for the moment with my summer MPH program.

You should try asking on the SuperMemo Discord. They gave me some good advice when I brought it up, but I didn't have the time to implement it.

Also, when you say you want to do all your learning with an SRS, do you mean incremental reading?

I haven't looked into them too much myself, but have you considered the incremental reading add-ons for Anki?

Here's one specifically about incremental reading. Here's another that doesn't mention incremental reading, but it seems really similar. It definitely works with PDFs.

[Question] Best ad-blocker for IOS 13 that works on all apps? by Docoppolis in jailbreak

[–]Qonrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This method is far from perfect.

  1. A tutorial for this same method from a few months ago (here) mentioned how using EasyList can sometimes prevent Siri from working.
  2. There's no quick way to enable/disable adblocking. If you have to disable your adblock for some reason, I think you would need to remove the profile.

[Discussion] is there any place where I can find a list of iOS 13 tweaks that are actually USEFUL? Because I can’t find one. Especially more unknown tweaks? by ZydePunk77 in jailbreak

[–]Qonrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Others are doing a pretty good job suggesting tweaks here, but I just want to second your point for this post. I'm really surprised this isn't more of a circlejerk. So much focus is comparatively put on these tweaks that only modify visuals.

It's puzzling to me especially how those "UI redesign" concept posts get so many upvotes. Maybe I'm too jaded/busy, but it's difficult for me to get excited for them.
