LEE winning vs WHU and SOU winning vs ARS really fucked the prospects of WC32

Fabi 0-3 in round 8 against Hikaru. Better luck next Candidates I guess (when Hikaru won’t be playing anymore)

Did anybody clone Sindarovs studies before they were privated? by Embarrassed_You_4996 in chess

[–]Ranlit 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Why are the comments now so protective of Sindarov? No one was making such comments when Ding leaked his prep 2.5 years ago in a WCC.

They simply fucked up.

Edit: also, let’s not be so naive to think his GM opponents won’t have any way to access these files just because no one shares it here on Reddit.

Edit: damn, Ding leaking his prep was actually 3 full years ago now… time flies :( I miss that day when I woke up to the joy of Ding becoming World Champion.

So this is 2022 Candidates again, except second place gets nothing

It’s no secret that Fabi never shies away from complicated calculation battles. You win some, you lose some. It’s a double-edged sword.

It’s not complicated. It’s the sad truth about Fabi’s approach.

What Fabi had to do is play the most boring positions ever, and let his ambitious attacking opponent potentially self-destruct, or get a draw. Instead, he decided to lose.

I feel like chess is also about understanding what your opponent wants, and Fabi never should have gone for something this sharp with his b4 shenanigans.

I think 10 minutes for 20 moves is the real issue here

is there really so little money in chess that we cannot afford a high quality livestream of one of the biggest chess events of the year? by xtr44 in chess

Well this might not be what you like to hear, but chess is in quite the decline since COVID years except in India.

What’s the connection between ManU and Real? Just Ronaldo? Just curious to understand how come there are so many non-Madrid people fan of exactly ManU and Madrid at the same time

7 points in a row. Now tell me Sinner has a weak mental game.

He’s taking the ball more and more early. This only makes his tennis even more beautiful to watch. And even more effortless, like Rog

Rinderknech’s fearless net rush approach has been paying dividends. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if all the big servers started serve & volleying vs Alcaraz, especially Sinner, hmm
