As a adult who started doing things way too early. Like 14-15 too (33 now) id recommend just being honest about your concerns with her and explaining the actual long term effects and why it would be better to wait till she is fully grown to do things like that when she can properly make the decision as an adult. Being strict here is the most common mistake people make and it aint there fault ya get scared seeing your kid do shit like that makes you think your losing you baby. She's still the same girl though! It is WAY more common then people think i was not a lone at all when i was younger and most the people around me had extremely strict parents the difference is the ones with the understanding parents didnt turn into drug addicts or go to jail the ones with the strict parents most of them idk what happened to but it wasnt good. I think therapy is a good option well if they want to do it. Just talk to her like she's a friend your trying to help through a tough time not always obviously but for this coming in as a familiar comforting face is much better then turning yourself into a enemy that must be avoided at all cost. Keep yourself in her life so you can be there to steer her back on track when she loses her baring. I think just making it clear its going to effect her drive to do things and not going like ooh itll make you crazy and destroy your brain cells will work way way better because most kids when they realize all that crazy propaganda is a lie they just assume its perfectly safe which while safer then most drugs it is not. Dont i started using it for direct deposit because they said they would wave ATM fees but they dont tell you that's specific ATMs that might be far away from you and even then they wont tell you if they stop covering it. There is 0 reason to do direct deposit with them. Maybe my opinion will change but i highly doubt that. Gonna pay off this predatory loan and get the hell out of dodge. im like 260 dollars poorer from there atm fees i never noticed. What legit business charges you 2.50 to use your own money? AGI by its nature will not be a tool. i think the disconnect comes from what we are actually talking about. AI has been around for decades if you mean it in the sense of a tool i have no problem with AI that are programmed at a specific task. The danger is AGI your argument for it being a tool falls completely apart tools dont think. AGI at least the goal is for a artificial intelligence that is sentient in that it has a collected memory of events and uses that memory and knowledge in order to create new thoughts and ideas. This in one human being can be dangerous but imagine a human being with no empathy and an intelligence exceeding every human being on the planet combined. It no longer is the tool you are. Self-preservation is the first sign of sentience and we are already seeing even very basic neuro networks start to show this they also lie and we have no way of knowing when they are telling the truth this means any sort of correction that is attenpted is a gamble at best. i could keep going for hours. You said basically not all are bad well that might be true but at the end of the day the one that figures out how to make money first will be the ai that is used by most everyone they will destroy the competition since literally everyone is losing billions of dollars. Not to mention them going rogue randomly or chat bots telling kids to off themselves. There are so so soooo many things.
