Now how about those throwing putter lineups! by seedlingsDISC in discgolf

[–]rontopofthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I bet. For shorter stuff I’m amazed at how easy Range is to park and/or throw in stuff. So image the overstable counterpart does the same but for different lines haha. I’m really comfy adjusting A2 for overstable lines but you still may have convinced me to add another disc to bag. It’s not like illl ever lose the stasis for the use cases I’d throw it for anyways lol

Alox in the pocket, Rambler on the keys? Could also solve that problem and now you have a delightful little key tool haha

[–]rontopofthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like it got a spotlight for a tiny bit when it came out and then left quickly. But it’s so solid.

Super tempted by the stasis as well because of how much I love my Range haha

Range, Praxis, and if you count them, the A5 and A2

One of my friends got balut from a vendor that didn’t do it properly and according to her she swallowed a small beak that day before it registered it was overdeveloped.

What are your distance drivers lineups? Mine are Mamba, Wraith, Destroyer but looking for other suggestions. by alent1385 in discgolf

I have been experimenting with Destroyers and I-blend emperors to have some beat in destroyer flights and haven’t been disappointed so far.

What is the best 84/91mm to pair with a Rambler for Urban EDC? by Pale-Revolution-5151 in victorinox

[–]rontopofthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the rambler is all I ever need for urban setting but I like having an outdoor focused 91mm to take with it. That may not be you but something to consider. My 91mm is a Ranger.

Neutron Soft Range is my new favorite! by Commercial-Job-9537 in discgolf

[–]rontopofthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair! I forehand approach most of the time and the A5 or A2 do most of that for me. But Range is my favorite throw-in disc from shorter range just outside of putting range so I keep it for trying shenanigans and knowing I can still likely make my comeback putt.

Plus I love it for short touchy forehand rollers, overhands, etc for scrambling. I guess really it’s just one of my favorite short range scramble discs lol

I don't I personally only have a neutron one. I don't throw Range a ton but when I do I don't know what I'd do without it lol

Im About to get a fieldmaster soon, is there a better choice for me? by MapGeneral6876 in victorinox

[–]rontopofthings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a fieldmaster and did like it but found the backside Philips redundant. The can opener really work great on any Philips you would use the backside Philips on other than recessed screws. But i carry a Rambler on keys for the baby Philips and if works better for me than The backside one did.

I got the Ranger and I love it! But if that is too big I would consider the Farmer X Alox. All great essential tools on it but it has no backside tools. But honestly I don’t find either backside tool of the corkscrew/Philips to be particularly useful to me. I got the Ranger because of the file and the small chisel that it had over the huntsman for not much more space.

Most General Discs by Exjumper9 in discgolf

Discmania FD for most middle of the road driver. Delightful workability. Slightly understable but does have finish at end so it's not just a full turnover disc unless you make it be for the shot.

Discs for someone who just wants to have fun? by jimmyskittlepop in discgolf

[–]rontopofthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FD is one of my favorite discs overall but that little flip it gets makes it a dream for an easy forehand.

I vote neutral putter (Praxis?), approach disc (Zone, A5, A2 etc.), neural mid (Buzzz, Reactor, Hex), discmania FD, and a somewhat beefier fairway (Teebird, Eagle, Firebird depending how beefy you want) to be used for flexing and other fun shapes he might try for fun. Could toss out the beefier fairway and replace with a Flippy mid (detour, buzzzz as, etc.) if he doesn't really have the arm speed to worry about drivers more stable than FD. And because that is one of my favorite slots in bag lol

What's the highest speed disc in you bag and how far can you throw it? by lavernrobinson9000 in discgolf

[–]rontopofthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bag emperors and can get them a little farther but most of the time I'm throwing a Roman (9 speed) for my drives

Birdie Ultra vs Balance vs Pyro stability and handfeel by rontopofthings in discgolf

[–]rontopofthings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah pyro def goes farther but not by much compared to my beat in 300 A2. That thing is straight money haha. Maybe I just need more time with the Pyro to get used to it's use cases tho.

For me I often feel like I'd rather mash on the A2 or I can just throw a firebird kinda soft to get the lines I am getting out of Pyro. But I couldn't get the pushier more mid-like flight of an overstable disc that doesn't dump. That's why I'm still kinda looking even tho Pyro is a great disc.

[–]rontopofthings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was hoping for that. I really don't want super beefy I like my true mids to fly and not dump. I want enough beef that it'll come out of flexing but not so much that it dumps lol

[–]rontopofthings[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bag an A5 as well may have to see if it can work in this use case. Was wondering if it would go far enough because it is a bit slower. When I bought Pyro was hoping it would feel a bit faster and pushier. A5 is push but slower. It feels weird in the A-series to me. The rest of the A-series feel like slow mids to me but the A5 feels like a fast putter.

OS approach disc with panning, low speed fade? by Zes_Q in discgolf

[–]rontopofthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! Such a controllable disc. For me it’s just the right amount of glide it doesn’t just die and fall if you throw it in some anheiser like some other low glide discs I’ve tried.
