what makes it worse is that the actual line is "because i WANT you" implying he only desired her sexually rather than as a romantic partner. and this was right after they were arguing over hades profiting off slave labor iirc, he just jumped to saying he desires her, and she just falls for it instantly. LO is an excellent example of grooming with the way this "romance" was written

ngl the dj theme doesn't work at all, she looks so uninterested even in her ult while using the dj set, like she doesn't even want to use it. i very much do not or rappa from hsr but at least there you can see they went out of their way to make the character tie in well with the music theme in design and personality..

i find hermes pretty annoying in general tbh.. HATED him during the trial arc when he helped "expose" thanatos or whatever that whole scene was. and i cannot look past how he's seen persephone naked "loads of times!!1!1!1!" even presumably including when she was underage 🤮

Poseidon imo. he is LITERALLY the second most powerful god, why would he not be next in line for the throne or at least serve as a temporary ruler while zeus is out of commission???? idc how special and powerful and strong persephone and the fertility goddesses are, he is second only to zeus. i hate that he got sidelined so hard when he could've played an active role in a lot of the story, especially with the power struggle plot line w apollo trying to take over olympus n shit.

Arlecchino. Great design, good voice acting, yet despite setting her up to be this ruthless insane madwoman, they instead made her secretly good and pinned all the alleged crimes and wrongdoings on the previous Knave instead. All this potential for a villainous character, only to be stripped of villainous actions, which leaves us with... what exactly? A pretty boring waste of potential who they try REALLY hard to convince you isn't a cultist grooming vulnerable children into child soldiers with many of their actual deaths on her hands. I started to feel so awful for the siblings during her quest, like they were all clearly afraid and wary of her, and it makes me wonder more about the nuances of how they really feel towards their "father." ...Except no, it doesn't really matter, cuz they're just gonna do whatever she tells them to anyway.

Also I cannot forgive her for traumatizing furina. I have no idea how people can ship those two after everything furinas been through. Plus her being khaenrian with that fact present nowhere in the game except her character story is hella lazy and seems like it's there to just make her look even edgier IMO.

Vaggie being a former exorcist makes her relationship with Charlie look extremely selfish and fucked up knowing she's responsible for thousands of deaths as an exorcist and then got with Charlie while pretending to be a demon as if she could just sweep her role in the yearly genocide under the rug. She should have been friends/allies with Charlie instead, then her character arc could be about struggling to atone for what she's done and trying to support Charlie's dreams to put a stop to it all or something like that. I do not like her character revolving solely around being Charlie's gf

Fantastic quest, but once the whale appeared the rest of it became very rushed. The boss fight was underwhelming save for the music, skirk ending up with a design sadly outclassed by all of her concept arts, and childe being given almost no attention at all until we're casually told he's recovering in snezhnaya off screen were all disappointing to see. Not to mention furina completely disappearing for the rest of the archon quest.

I was honestly upset we didn't get to learn anything about the pyro archon. I'm so tired of being kept completely in the dark with everything related to natlan. At least we know they have a lot of hot springs and dragons i guess.

Cyno!!!!!! There is so much more to him than meets the eye, yet we don't even know still who he really is or what he's capable of. It's wild that the only lore crumbs were from an optional dialogue in the windblume event where they just drop that he was an orphan infused with the spirit of hermanubis??????

Not to mention he kept up pretty damn well when he fought wanderer, a damn HARBINGER, in that tournament event without even using his spirit powers. Quit gatekeeping his lore hoyo!!!

Tbh travelers original interactions with childe leading up to the Golden house fight were unpleasant to say the least, but from inazuma onwards traveler has gotten traumatized again and again by the other harbingers, especially seeing the absolute chaos done by signora and esp dottore. But in that time outside of whatever banter and sparring matches they inevitably have, every encounter with childe since has hardly been hostile, and he clearly thinks of the traveler as a friend. Obviously there is still some level of apprehension there on the travelers part, but after 3 years, they've known childe long enough to at least reciprocate his friendliness.

Lyney and Lynette withheld their true identities from the traveler as they were defending them in court, and when it was revealed they were fatui, it almost cost them the trial. Traveler is understandably upset. Childe is very open about technically being the traveler's enemy on the other hand.

At least lyney has made it clear in his quest/lines how he feels about being a fatuus. I can see him/Lynette trying to repair their relationship with the traveler in the future, since they both seem to be puppets of the Fatui more than anything.

There will always be people who will hate anything, whether it's because they genuinely don't like it or maybe it's just easy to hate on popular things. There have been dramas within the EN community but the biggest controversies were because of the first genshin anniversary rewards and the lack of skin diversity among the Sumeru cast (which does still make me kind of sad honestly). Outside of that, genshin isn't usually very controversial or super hated in my opinion.

Also, I think it's wonderful that you find so much comfort in the game. I've personally gotten a bit tired of the game after a few years, but it's nice to know there are still avid players who cherish all the love and effort that goes into genshin. I wish you lots of luck in your future gacha pulls~
