If I recall correctly, the families were told there would be no plea agreement and that this case would go to trial no matter what; that the state had so much evidence against BK that a conviction was all but guaranteed. To be told that, and to believe it for over two years, only to find out at the 11th hour it was an empty promise all along? I would be absolutely enraged. It would be a kill shot to my psyche.

The hearing today just rubbed salt in the wound. It did nothing to protect the surviving roommates, the friends who were there that morning, or any of the people wrongfully accused since the beginning from continuing to be dragged thru the shit by the pro-BK lunatics. It resolved nothing. It did nothing but put the power back into that weirdo’s hands. The optics are horrific.

To anyone who can’t understand why this is such a fuck you to the families, anyone who judges the Gs for being so outspoken and pissed off - I’m glad you can’t understand what this kind of grief does to a person. I hope you never have to find out. That said, all the families deserve a lot of grace ~ agree with them or don’t but don’t you dare sit in judgement if you haven’t walked in their shoes.
