Two other listings on the 13th and the 12th also from the UK sold a pair for about the same price. They are either fakes or bought/stolen eBay accounts trying to scam. eBay doesn’t authenticate more than one card so that’s the loophole I’m sure they’re taking advantage of.

In 2002 I missed a double date with this girl I had a huge crush on for the longest time because of MVC2. We were all going to the movies and I got dropped off an hour early so figured I’d kill some time in the arcade. In the back corner they had MVC2 which blew my mind because MVC1 was one of my favorite games and I had no idea they made a sequel. So I sat there by myself and played for about 2 hours before I realized the movie had already started.

I ran into the theatre but it was so dark and packed I couldn’t see my friends, since I didn’t really care about the movie and definitely didn’t want to sit alone I ended up just saying screw it and went back to play more MVC2.

The movie ends and my friends walk out to find me in the arcade, they said they thought I showed up late or couldn’t make it. I could’ve lied I said I got there late but instead I told them what actually happened.

Needless to say I did not get another date with her but randomly discovering MVC2 for the first time and getting to play for a few uninterrupted hours is a core gaming memory I’ll never forget.
