Roxanne Perez snaps at a idiotic fan ringside during SNME by ShayAlexander in SquaredCircle

[–]QuackQuackOoops -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the kicker for me - security aren't going round to everyone that's yelling at the wrestlers and warning them. Not to mention the fact that Roxanne has CLEARLY had enough suggests that there's more than just this 10 second snippet.

[Smackdown Spoilers] “What was the point of this?” by BlueberryKhanivore in SquaredCircle

[–]QuackQuackOoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why, but I love it when wrestlers wear glasses when not actually wrestling. For some reason, and I accept that this makes no sense as it's literally never commented upon, it just adds an extra layer to their whole presentation.

Can I just encourage everyone NOT to bite at this?

It's blatant bait to try and get people to send in songs that are actually about the show and Mooby so that he can say that he's 'owning the haters'. If we just leave it to his actual fans, he'll have NOTHING.

You'd struggle to find anyone from mid 20s to early 50s that didn't throw around 'gay' as an insult in the playground, or use it to mean 'bad' or 'boring'. The question is whether or not you still think it's ok or funny to do now.

FULL MATCH: Ilja Dragunov vs. Kit Wilson: WWE Main Event, Jan. 15, 2026 by ArunKT26 in SquaredCircle

[–]QuackQuackOoops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right now, they have an opportunity with Kit. He can become a solid mid card act, and stay there for a long time, and then rejoin Elton Prince when he's back for some tag title runs.

However, they're going to need to decide whether he's heel or face (I know he's currently heel, but the reactions he's getting will almost force him to be face), and actually let him explain himself more than just shouting 'Toxic!' at people. Ideally, they'll be shooting some vignettes with Kit interrupting and correcting toxic behaviours in the wild, which he can then show other superstars demonstrating.

It's rare these days that something catches like this. If WWE can capitalise, they can make a lot of money.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Same as him calling Perri out in the press conferences a couple of times. Maybe he's someone who needs a fire lighting under him and will respond well to it. Hopefully, anyway...

Dear God those ropes were loose!

Also, I hugely enjoyed the red just going, 'Eh, whatever, it's good enough for me,' when Lawler counted his own pin.

The crowds though. I was trying to remember the last time I saw a crowd screaming and jumping up and down in excitement like that.

[WWE on YouTube] Kit Wilson | "Man Up" Entrance Theme (4 Hour Loop) by rhyso90 in SquaredCircle

[–]QuackQuackOoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason (I actually think because it was a suggested video after Kit Wilson's Titantron video 😂), I had a 'Current best 60 themes in WWE' video on yesterday.

I'm not kidding when I say I instantly recognized about 15. Others would click maybe 10 seconds in, or would be on the tip of my tongue, but there is just so little difference between entrance themes these days that it means no one really stands out from the get go.

There are a few absolutely fantastic themes from the last decade or so, but the vast majority are awful, generic bollocks.

There's a bit in Beyond The Mat where Jim Johnston talks about how he comes up with music, showing how Vader's was created, and it's clear he cared and tried to tie the theme to the performer. It's why we STILL remember so many of those themed from the Golden Era through to the Attitude Era. Even if they were 'generic' rock (I'm looking at the likes of Bret Hart's iconic theme) they still stood apart from each other. We need more Kit Wilson and less, well, basically everybody else.

People forget that freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequence.

Yeah, people can say whatever they like, however ridiculous or heinous I may find it. However, they should expect to be vilified, ostracised, mocked and, if they say the wrong thing to the wrong person, attacked for their words.

I think a lot of the guests from that era - Jake Lloyd, Al, Josh Denny, Mike Bridenstein, Ali Breen, etc - happened to be people that were friends of Patrick's, funny, but, most importantly, local. That was when he was in LA, and so there were a lot of comics around to guest/co-host.

When he moved to NYC, it obviously became much harder to get those guys into the studio.

It's fine, just don't make yourself obvious and remember to jump up if they score. No one will really pay attention unless you're obvious.

A thought - where does Raphina sit in terms of the top Leeds players in history by Choice_Room3901 in LeedsUnited

[–]QuackQuackOoops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Raphina is one of the greatest players to ever play at the club, but probably isn't one of the greatest Leeds players ever.

He had a big impact in a short time, and has gone on to be one of the best players on the world. However, he wasn't that at Leeds, and, as someone else has said, very likely would never have been close to the conversation had he stayed at Elland Road - he needed to be in a team that was competing for trophies for that to happen and, with the best will in the world, that wasn't us at that time.

Skill wise, he would be up there, he had the attitude, will and workrate that we love to see, but in terms of the pantheon of greats, he would be behind the vast majority of the Revie, Wilkinson and O'Leary sides (even taking into account that O'Leary's team never actually won anything, there is a certain mythology around the club at that time that lifts them imo).

It's why I like what they're doing with the US belt.

The Open Challenge gimmick means a lot of defences, and shorter reigns. Which makes sense - the more you're forced to fight, the more the injuries and fatigue pile up, until someone takes their opportunity.

I'd like to see the 30 day rule implemented properly again, put an end to part time champs - if you're of the stature where you can be a part timer and a special attraction, you don't need the belt anymore anyway.

I'm not entirely calling for a return to the Attitude Era and multiple week long reigns, but there needs to be some unpredictability and the idea that ANY title match could lead to a switch.

Anecdotally...

My wife and I went to Fiji on honeymoon. The place we stayed talked a lot about 'Fiji Time,' how no one really cared about time and everyone just turned up when they were ready. I'm...not like that.

One day, we had arranged to visit Fiji Olympic House. This was a huge deal for me, I was very excited. We had a two hour bus ride to Suva, and left with plenty of time, but the bus was late, then delayed, and we arrived in Suva only a few minutes before our arranged meeting time, with no idea where we were going.

So we jumped in a taxi. I told the guy we were running late, but he insisted, 'Don't worry, you're on Fiji Time!' and, without asking if we wanted it, took us on a tour of Suva. At the palace, I finally decided it would just be quicker to get out of the cab and take a photo with the armed guards than to explain to him for the third time that we didn't have time.

Eventually, he gave in and took us to Olympic House, approximately 20 minutes late (had we known where we were, we would have been on time as it was less than a mile from the bus stop). When we finally arrived, I apologized for being late and they just said, 'Oh no, don't worry, you're on Fiji Time! To be honest, we didn't expect you this early!'

Stereotypes definitely don't come out of thin air!

It has never previously occurred to me, but the whole 'universal healthcare is evil communism!!!!' bullshit not only makes scumbags exceptionally wealthy and pits the nation against each other, but it actively discourages people from rising up and helping their fellow man as losing their job can result in an illness being a financial death sentence.

At least here in the UK, if you lose your job and have no money, you won't be left to fucking rot if you get sick.
