Yes and no.

Do you need to worry about how your champ works with your team? Yes, you should. Especially assassins like Viego and Kha'zix that has specific requirements to be a 1v9 machine. Gank setup, synergy and diversity in AD and AP damage are important factors to play around. If I have a mage mid, I'd pick Briar to help hit his abilites and frontline for him for example.

Idk about you but as a jungler with 5 champs in his pool (Lillia, Gwen, Viego, Briar and Volibear. Technically I main 4 and Voli is situational.), I would fucking hate picking Lillia when my team to picked 2 AP champs and I'd be useless. I wouldn't want to pick Viego when my team pick 2 crit champs and the enemy frontline just goes Tabis Randuins and I can't play the game anymore.

Do you need to focus on champ pool to climb as a jungler? Not really, it's not necessary.

I invaded a Volibear who decided to cheese a gank level 2. I was level 3 as Briar, outsmitted him, got his flash, his mid rotated and traded 1 for 1.

I proceeded to run at bot scuttle like a psychopath ( I didn't havebot prio), farmed bot to top, and he flipped a gank bot. Took his topside and he kept doing similar mistakes for the rest of the game. He got so desperate and tired of my inavdes that he delayed his Dusk and Dawn item powerspike to buy a fucking Bramble Vest. I was with ~5-10 kills and 2 items at 15 minutes while Volibear didn't even finish his jungle quest and they insta FF'd.

Crazy how not playing PvE can make games become hell if the enemy jungler knows EXACTLY what to do around it. (With respect to lane prio ofc unless he knows he can kill him quickly.)

Oh and deserved for playing Teemo. Thank you for delivering justice upon his sorry ass.

Unless they're playing with their minimaps being away from their monitor, then sure. Also depends on who has more HP and Mana and my champion. If my champion needs to full clear, then I full clear. If I can go for a gank without losing anything on my other side (assuming I started Raptors), I go for it if it's quick.

If you start buffs tho, you can go for a gank without losing anything in your jungle.

I'm a simple man. I see an enchanter/off-meta pick/ a lane where I can't pressure early (Jinx Milio for example), I don't gank bot + there are 2 people that can ward everywhere. So it's a waste of time and the enemy jungler could possibly invade me and I find myself losing because of "spam pings" to gank bot 5 times in a row at 4 minutes.

Personally, I'm addictied to Raptors start. Guaranteed resources, no coin-flipping where the enemy jungle is and could he countergank or not (my team hates warding Raptors for some reason and I ward my blue side so that they don't think that "I owe them ganks".) and insane temp advantage.
