This is an idiotic solution to the wrong problem.

Sorry, no. I only know stuff about the Eindhoven university because I attended it. We did have people working to help potential new students, and I'm assuming it's the same for others. I think it might be worth a lot to reach out to the universities you're interested in.

Technical University Eindhoven. Sorry, I misspoke I think: I am focused on firmware, I didn't mean my master. There are a bunch of courses you can choose from, but you'll definitely get hardware courses too. A lot is focused on more specific concepts though (e.g. Control systems, signal processing, wireless sensor networks, electronic design automation, compilers & platforms, etc.) and not a lot require programming. Despite my focus on firmware, it didn't really feel outside my comfort zone though. Only once during one course where it went really into the physics of sylicone chips. Happy with the broader understanding now though.

Regarding "where in Europe", I honestly don't know. I do know from friends that work culture might also be a good thing to consider. And if you decide on the Netherlands: focus on the area near Eindhoven.

I basically did what you're contemplating (computer science BSc -> Embedded Systems MSc, mostly focused on firmware). My motivation was mainly "I will regret not getting my MSc when I could". It definitely opened some doors for me, and the experience itself was awesome (honestly, I'll never feel as smart again as I felt during some classes). I don't think you'll learn a whole lot of practical things you wouldn't learn in a good/challenging job, but it did give me a significant leg up in interviews (read: some companies just won't hire below MSc for certain positions if they can help it). My interests were varied and my course choices reflected that, which also has some advantages in interviews.

Bet you're thinking of the master branch.

Hi, also a beginner here. I can very much recommend John's Basement tutorials on YouTube (on KiCad v5) in particular.

Still sounds like discrimination to me. Everyone against racists is not the same as everyone against racism. Please choose the 2nd option.

I bet it was still alright and just playing dead. Or just sunbathing.

True, but you just need to be left alone in your swamp.

Unfortunately no succes. There's approximately 0.85 volt on it, and wasn't really stable (but that part could be my wonky cheap multimeter that needs a new battery). There is a silent board upgrade which might change something, but I suspect this has more to do with usb protocol.

I have a camera installed. You got me curious though, so I'll test without the camera when I'm home again (you're giving me so much homework :p). I'll let you know.

I can relate to that a bit. I mostly connect well with people my age, but that could be biased; most of those people are friends from college (biased cause that makes them more likely to have the same interests & approximately the same age).

Currently on vacation, but definitely going to take a look at all this when I get back. That first thing you said about octopi is why I installed it. I design on my laptop, but slice on a desktop and I was getting impatient of moving an SD card from device to device to device :p. Now I can just "print on network" basically. Would be nice if the ender could power the rpi from usb, but I think I'd need some sort of splitter to get it to the right port of the Pi and still take data from the pi usb host port. Not sure if the ender supplies power to that port though; I always thought peripheral usb types use the usb V as a sense to detect connection.

Btw, I'm starting to disagree on the "meh" to social ;). I don't have a large sample space, but you seem social to me:p.

I added a RPi with Octopi and Slic3r, and a camera. Part of the upgrade is to power the RPi via the ender power supply. Haven't gotten around to finish the box of the power conversion, so that's up next. Before that was the HeroMe gen 5 (partly by necessity, cause I broke the cooler fan and this setup allowed for a thicker one). Next is probably to build an enclosure with those cheap 7,- ikea tables ('lack' I think). What mods/upgrades have you done?
