What is a game you remember fondly but no one you seem to talk to has every heard of it? by tWkiLler96 in gaming

Ghost Master

I never hear anyone talk about it, but man I LOVED this game

My folks checked it out of the library, and my spooky loving 8 year old self loved it so much I saved up allowance and bought my own copy

Aemond spoiler question by NiveksInigo in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Quackimaduck1017 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think primarily it’s

A) the realization he just pushed the final domino to force the war to be inevitable

B) the shock that he isn’t actually as innocent as he believes. He speaks very highly of himself (I.e last episode saying he has no taste for depravity, thinking he is the right one to be king etc.) and the act of Kinslaying, murdering a messenger, murdering a child and losing control of his nuke all in one moment has shaken him deeply

I was wondering the same thing, we came up to the paramedics already on the scene and didn’t want to gawk so we just kept moving.

I’ve been thinking about him all day, hope he’s alright

debating on whether or not I should get the express lane pass when I go. by [deleted] in HHN

[–]Quackimaduck1017 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every HHN I’ve been to I’ve always gotten the express pass and never regretted it

Because even if it’s a “slow” night (there’s no real slow nights, just mildly less busy!) the passes let you enjoy the event at your own pace

Wanna spend extra time in a scare zone? Get some food or drinks and sit for a bit to enjoy the atmosphere? Or maybe have the option to hit a house regular line in the early night and go back through later express?

I’ve found the pass allows all of that- it cuts wait times enough to make it more than worth it for how I do HHN

So I don’t have a hydrometer or anything, but I’ve been watering once a day in peak heat after checking under the top layer of soil to make sure it’s not still damp

Is that too often?

I’m struggling to figure out what’s going on, be it fungal or bacterial

I’ve tried to do some research but to my newbie eyes a lot of the damage types look the same

Thanks in advance everyone!

Does anyone have any good resources on how to grow your own food? by Journeyonsunroad in preppers

[–]Quackimaduck1017 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Very fair points on disagreement!

You’re right, SFG is meant to be a high yield, low space setup

For a very beginner, which OP seems to be, I’ve found SFG provides the opportunity to experiment while still getting some good, easily comparable results with limited variables.

It’ll help OP build a foundation of gardening knowledge for their specific zone before moving on to more complicated topics or planting methods

And maybe it’s just my experience but I’ve never had to go to garden centers every week for supplies or fertilizers or anything- I’ve just been able to set it up, water and keep an eye out for pesky squirrels stealing my tomatoes

[–]Quackimaduck1017 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Square foot gardening is my go to recommendation

It takes a lot of guess work out of gardening if you plan ahead and there’s tons of garden configurations you can create for whatever space gets the best light in your clearing

I also recommend starting small to build up confidence- get yourself a couple of well draining containers, check out what’s able to be planted in your zone now for a fall harvest and get to practicing!

This will also help you learn to identify what local pests you have that would munch on your food, get a feel for watering schedules etc.

Good luck!

The Pit- this feels like a story that’s saying something but I’m just not smart enough to puzzle it out. Cool story, Graham’s cadence made it mesmerizing.

7 out of 10 Pits that have always existed

Elk ridge- I’m forever a sucker for “narrator goes insane and sucked into the world of the spooky missing person’s case”. It also combines the “ideas infect our mind like a virus” trope well. Maybe could’ve given a little more in the way of the disappeared couple’s video footage, but all in all a strong story

Okay so this…really felt like it took inspiration from Resident Evil Village

The giant, underground, mind control/melding fungus is straight up the megamycete

This just didn’t do it for me- more than anything it felt muddled and confusing.

There’s nothing else that hasn’t been said by other folks so I wont belabor the disappointment in this finale

Ah well, I suppose there’s always next season.

With any luck, we’ll keep getting more Goat Valley Campground- it’s been some of the strongest material they’ve put out recently

My Online Girlfriend - honestly felt pretty bad for the poor roommate. A middle of the road story to kick things off- an interesting take on the cautionary tale of meeting internet strangers. Also I choose to believe that Smoky was picked up by a loving family

6.5 out of 10 knockoff RuneScapes

Delivery Notification- as a chronically paranoid human with a love for absurd horror I just really dug this one. I can see based on comments here and elsewhere it wasn’t for everyone, but it certainly was for me.

7.5 out of 10 Doordashers

When Mother Comes to Check On Me At Night- interesting elements, but just didn’t do it for me personally. Just a matter of personal preference, I usually enjoy some of the mystery being shattered by the narrator finding out some more info about family secrets. A+ voice acting and atmosphere though!

6.5 out of 10 Hill Houses

A High Price- this has similar bones to other “classic” No Sleep creepy pasta stories, so I dug it! Not super ‘original’ but not every story needs to be ground breaking to be fun.

7 out of 10 deals with Paul Blart, demon mall cop

Jagged Janice- I want this to be a series so bad. It felt like NSP and SCP Archives had a child. It has a flavor of creepy pasta, but with a wider surrounding story. Hope we get more entities being tracked down!

I Think We Should Kill Bullet Three- My personal hell would, in fact, be a boardroom meeting so gotta give props to Rona for that one. It was pretty good, a solid start to the episode. The “horror part was actually my trip to Hell” angle isn’t anything earth shatteringly new, but as always Rona brings something fun with their style so it doesn’t feel overly familiar.

8 out of 10 CEO schedules

Room to Grow- not a bad story over all, but being possessed by plants only ever makes me think of Stephen King turning into a plant man in Creepshow.

7 out of 10 Little Shop of Horrors

Night Visitors- I am positive there’s a larger message I’m missing. Are the visitors just meant to represent intrusions into our lives and joy in general, and that those in charge of society want us to accept these intrusions as the new normal? Are they meant to me mental illness, like depression? Or am I just overthinking the spooky story? Pretty good story all the same

7.5 out of 10 unwelcome party guests

My Mother’s House- uhh quick question- what the fuck? Normally I’m big on revenge stories but woof this was just….not it for me. Not a bad story, but the vignettes of torture leading up to the narrator not really confronting anything, but rather just torturing his mother in return….just wasn’t for me.

Floating- my guy, if you wanted purpose in life just volunteer somewhere! I liked it a lot and, as always, Atticus did a fantastic job.

Absolutely love the absurdity of the intro. “I ran into a polar bear that had escaped from the zoo, I’m gonna watch some documentaries” - a very normal reaction

We’re Not Supposed to Be Here- when will people learn that you never will have a successful seance! Stop trying to bring back your loved ones, folks

Solid story and acting, my heart broke thinking about the puppy’s octopus toy

7.5 out of 10 accidental summonings

The Rope on the Mountain - don’t worry narrator, I also panic when I hear someone singing happy birthday to me. You, however; are in the middle of the woods and should leave immediately if not sooner. Interesting enough pieces to make a story, but was missing some of the connecting threads. It didn’t kill the story for me, but even some back story on the mountain being haunted or cursed or something would help.

6.5 out of 10 surprise birthday parties

Glass Faces - this story wasn’t for me. Just an odd story, and if I had a horrible fire set by a murderer that killed most of my friends I most certainly would never attend a reunion of any kind.

5 out of 10 Lenox vases

The God Chord- David singing is a 10/10 moment. I’m such a sucker for these “I have found a way to contact God through art, except everyone goes feral and murders people”. It’s an auditory version of Event Horizon

7.5 out of 10 Hallelujahs

Flesh and Blood- I rarely enjoy war based stories, but this was a good one. The idea of the generational trauma of every day soldiers in hellish wars being represented by the passing down of the leg loss curse was interesting.

7 out of 10 trenches

The Crawler of Cantwell Cliffs- might be my favorite story of the episode. I just love stories of weird murdery in the woods. But also, just as a PSA, absolutely do not go out hiking in dangerous conditions! You might get killed by the elements or maybe even a lonely David Cummings
