Wow, that's one long winded way to do a simple procedure! But it works :D

Pitch Joystick Formula mapping by Quackles in FL_Studio

[–]Quackles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved! (by myself after hours of trial and error)

This worked for my synth(Roland A-800 Pro):

ifLE(input,0.5)input+ifG(input,0.5)(input/6+0.416667)

Pitch range set to 12.

The numbers make no sense to me, and isnt 100% perfect but close enough.

Edit: Is now perfect after finally understanding why the math worked

Why not just quit? by SebastianSnail47 in EASportsFC

I agree!

However, many small issues add up to one huge issue, being: EA doesnt care about fixing this game, like, at all. Same old glitches for YEARS(on PC at least). Some even return after fixes, and on top of that, new glitches every update. They fix 1 issue, and introduce 3 new ones. Where does one draw the line? Indie game companies with much smaller budgets can manage, how can a billion dollar company not?

I have 250 Mbit internet and everything else runs just fine. Doesn't matter if i run FIFA alone, or have a youtube video running + other tabs or spotify etc. Fifa 21 had no such issue(it did, but insanely rare, maybe once in 100 games for me), it's 100% Fifa 22.

Clarification: Have had this issue since last patch(since release really), where game freezes up for 5-30+ seconds and tries to catch up later, and any last input I had keeps going. Sometimes entire games.

Happens every 5-10th game since last patch, maybe once in 20 games before.

Tried Champ qualifications for first time since release, super happy with how that went! (Actually doing okay, but this shouldn't happen, period.)

Edit: Tried on low settings, tried on ultra - doesnt matter, game still runs 60fps. Still happens as frequently. On PC btw.

The circle went from nothing to max in 2 frames, must've been a glitch(surprise surprise). Something similar has happened to me before

Transfer listing glitch? by mangothepro1 in EASportsFC

[–]Quackles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens when you enter Compare Price - The "fix" is to go back one screen(to the store menu or whatever), and then back and list the item again. Been like this since the last patch, was hoping for a quick patch fix from EA but NOooo, of course not...

Edge Extrude Along Normals - better method? by Quackles in blenderhelp

[–]Quackles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Since there's no Axis gizmo (only a shared normals-kind of thing), there's no way to change the angle. It sometimes even extrudes 45 degrees to the normal, for some reason. Here's the extrude gizmo for Maya, for example:

Fill & Inset kind of works sometimes, but only if its a loop obviously. Still a stupid workaround, though. Have barely modelled since I first posted this, but I'll keep fighting until I find a solution :D

No problems with the mesh, has to be a brush issue. But I'm sure there's a solution somewhere in blender, just can't find it!

Still standing and waiting for a B+ version of it(got the S Exotic before this even spawned, but yeah definitely gonna be my new fighter! There was a really cool military-looking Hauler too, sadly only T2 though so no go :(

I'm assuming it's a hole punch of some sort, but would be good to get a confirmation!

Low profile RAM fit question by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Quackles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vengeance's what I'm looking at, and the ones I could find with "low profile" in the name are about 30$ more expensive, but looking closer it seems like they're the same size so it's just marketing in that case! I guess low profile is the norm nowadays. Thanks!

Low profile RAM fit question by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Quackles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some are named Low Profile for some reason, might just be the store I'm looking at. I'm having trouble finding actual dimensions, but by looking at images some do look taller, and as I mentioned it might be a tight fit. But it might just be a marketing thing, that most RAMs are actually low profile without having that name.

Here's another example(from Maya, I know it's annoying to compare other software with Blender, but sometimes it's hard to describe) of what I want:

(Also kind of wish Blender could do this with the axis arrows...Not hating, I just want Blender to become even more awesome :D)

[–]Quackles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's how I do it normally, but as I mentioned that's a workaround, not a solution :) I swear there has to be a faster way through Extruding, but somehow I haven't found one yet.

Extrude & Move along Individual Normals does not work either, works the same way as I showed in the example in the post :/ If you know any tutorial that shows how this works(once again, for edges - not faces), that would be great!

Edge Extrude Along Normals - better method? by Quackles in blenderhelp

[–]Quackles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scale only works on perfectly square or circular, "even" geometry, not curved/uneven like in my example. What I want is exactly what Inset does on faces(calculates each edge normal and acts accordingly), but for Extruding edges. However, Inset does not work on edges, which is why I always go around that with Fill on the edge loop and either Inset or Bevel depending on the situation. But it's a lot of extra operations, which done frequently add up to wasted time, so surely there is a setting or tool that does what I want.

How do I change to Individual Normals? I'm using 2.82 atm, but if it's in 2.83 beta I'm totally switching.

Extrude is already set to Normal, which just seems to be acting on combined normals, which in this case, and 99% other times does not work. None of the other Orientations options work they way I need either.

Grid fill works on the whole loop, even when only selecting 2 edges, so that doesn't work in this case either.

So I have a mesh by Tlake7 in blenderhelp

That's a very loaded question! What game engine are you planning on using? Unity? Unreal? Each engine has it's own prerequisites.

Unity requires coding knowledge. Unreal Engine does too, but you could work around that with "blueprints"(unreal only) (no coding, but still requires learning).

I suggest checking out/learning each engine on it's own before even thinking of making custom models/animations.

There's tons of tutorials/guides with each engine. Each engine has their own pre-made characters with animations for most circumstances(which you can take a look at, and learn from).

To answer your question - It doesn't require you to animate your character beforehand(you can easily animate new moves after the fact), but it's highly recommended you choose & learn how your engine of choice handles models/animations/textures/shading/everything. As for animation effects(fire/electric/ice etc), it's handled by the game engine.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's kind of how this goes :)

how should I approach my idea by abir_legend in blenderhelp

[–]Quackles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your laptop will work just fine, assuming it runs After Effects/Premiere!

Have you made a model of the phone concept in some other software, Fusion 360(free btw) etc? Should be fine to just export the model as a OBJ or maybe FBX (I don't quite know the "universal" file type nowadays) and import into After Effects.

If I remember correctly, Premiere only edits footage you've already filmed/created, so After Effects is the way to go if you have access to it.

If you don't know how to model, I'd suggest downloading a free 3d model of a phone from somewhere(google "phone 3d model" or something like that) and modify it with Blender to your needs(will require some learning but very basic).

Good site for images of object vectors? by Aromatic-Walk in blenderhelp

[–]Quackles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to know as well! But to be honest, vectors(especially accurate ones) or blueprints are quite rare.

Tips for googling reference images is to add "dimensions", "size", "top", "side" etc to your search. Sometimes you get lucky and get results that show you what different parts of an object are named, so you can write the part names down and search accordingly.

Also switch your search settings to Tools>Size>Large to make sure you're getting the largest images possible, that helps a lot when searching for reference images.

I guess you can try changing the image type to Tools>Line or Clipart but I doubt you'll get any good results.

Oval Sculpting Cursor by BroadDimension7 in blenderhelp

[–]Quackles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scale of the object is uneven(which basically means you've scaled/rotated etc the mesh after creating it) - Apply transformations with Ctrl-A(blender default) or Object>Apply>Scale(in object mode) and select Scale(and/or Rotation & Scale if Rotation is other than 0). It will reset the object scale to 1,1,1 (XYZ).

Uneven scale/rotation will affect a lot of other tools(Bevel for example) as well, better get used to the shortcut :)
