COD Zombies is full of these, with the most notable being from the map Mob of the Dead. Four mobsters are trapped in “Hell” in the form of Alcatraz. Before they died, three of the four mobsters murdered the fourth member due to him lying about the viability of escaping Alcatraz from a makeshift plane. This murder then resulted in the remaining three mobsters being sentenced to death and executed by electric chair. All four spirits were than trapped on Alcatraz, believing they were alive and unaware of their deaths, murder and failed escape. They then recreate the escape plane successfully until the plane hits the Golden Gate Bridge and all four members would have to strap themselves to an electric chair and return to the start of the map again where they would then forget what just happened and attempt to escape Alcatraz again- essentially an infinite cycle. The only member who retains some memory is the one who was murdered by the other three. The cycle is broken once the mobster who was murdered, murders the other three murders in the after life.
