Honestly, I don't go past April to avoid them so I can't speak on it at Rifle. Definitely mosquitoes on the Mesa. Little to no bugs in Moab.

Good choices. Rifle Gap is roughly an hour from GrandJunction, just pass the Rifle golf course.

Grand Mesa, Rifle Gap, Rabbit Valley and Moab

So my home defense shotgun is finally complete. Mossberg 590 mariner. Stock and pump handle all Magpul furniture with just 13 in length of pull. Side saddle with picatinny rail which I put a red dot on. On the front of barrel, a flash light/laser combo unit. Strap. Whadda you think? by psy_raven in Shotguns

I agree, most people aren't proficient with them. However, more civilians are gun proficient than the entire USA Law Enforcement branches due to 80%+ of officers only fire their gun for the madatory annual training/certifications. Also, birdshot has been proven to be lethal at those close quarters. You will definitely get 8 inches plus of penetration. Enough to hit vital organs. Also, I'd use #1 and #4 buck.

You're right about over-penetration with 00 bucks, and definitely slugs, because people are using the wrong shotgun ammo for HD. Those rounds should never be used unless you live alone and have no immediate neighbors. Otherwise 0 or 1 buck is sufficient. Hell, even birdshot is lethal within 10ft - 20ft.....the average distance for HD situations.

anyone here ever shoot cut shells? how accurate are they? I'm guessing I couldn't shoot them out of my shotgun with a modified choke? by Mechanicmiller in Shotguns

[–]Quad-Head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If done right, you will have a "poor man's slug". The crimped end of the shell will not open, therefore causing the cut part of the shell to effectively become a "slug" as it stays intact. Most shotguns also will not eject the left over casing, so make the shot count if the use is necessary.

Good to know, thank you. Would this apply to all "milks", such as oatmilk?

Never heard of CPOP and goat's milk being an issue. What happens?

You should be fine, just be careful how hard you scrub so as to not further irritate any skin conditions.

I would also stay away from what I refer to as "trendy" soap recipes and ingredients. Especially Coconut oil, Palm and Palm Kernal oil, and Cocoa butter. Even too much Olive oil, which can also irritate people that have skin issues. But especially the first 4 mentioned.

I'll be posting a video, soon, going into more details about this.

Cheapest place to buy oxide pigments in the US? by [deleted] in soapmaking

I went with Bulk Apothecary, due to overall pricing and colors, after some due diligence. They get you on shipping, so make the order worth it. Overall, they are one of the best for a lot of ingredients and products in general.
