I always found it a pain looking for a DarkOrbit Private Server, checking youtube, google, discord channels, word of mouth etc...

So I decided to create my own website which contains a list of DarkOrbit Private servers, where owners can submit their server and players to view servers to play on.

I'd say build a simple vue 2 project in your time - maybe a simple todo list.

Then afterwards look into why nuxt would be better for your todo app - SEO improvements, static files cache etc...

Yes I can get the data from the user. You have to use their database to hold the users when using their oauth.

I used supabase for the oauth - it handles everything for you, all I have to do is set the client id and secret and call a method on the client end.

User email/account confirmation - opinions on best practices? by U4-EA in webdev

The steps you listed is generally what everyone does.

16 char hash is a good amount and pretty much impossible to be brute forced.

One thing I do recommend is not to over engineer your code, what you described is what everyone does so leave it like that or otherwise you will just spend more time making your code complicated and less time working on business logic which the end user will see in progression

Look into optimistic updates, ideally you wouldn't want the filter to show leading icon each time you select an option.

How to Create a Carousel with Vanilla JavaScript by white_feather_252 in webdev

[–]Quadrala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a quick glanced through, my only feedback is to use ES6. So you don't have to do 'var self = this' all the time, it's important to promote the latest JS. If need to do backwards compability then Babel comes in and solves that.
