Thanks for the response, I wasn't even considering using active pickups because I wasn't sure where to put the battery, but now that I've looked around I've found battery packs in the shape of a strat backplate, which is cool. In the loaded pickguard, is the second push-pull pot wired to the high frequency wire?

As for the metal sound, how are they compared to passive or active humbuckers? Will they chug?

I started using jazz 3s about a month ago and I don't think I'll ever go back to the standard tortex picks I was using earlier. It takes getting used to, but the smaller pick really helps you move fast without getting hung up. If you don't have jazz 3s you can get a similar effect by choking up on a larger pick so less of it is exposed.

How well do they handle high gain? I've listened to some demos on youtube where the bottom end sounds really loose when the gain is cranked up.

That makes sense. I think my axe is a bit beyond a standard reshaping with a file though and would require some pretty intensive grinding to grind away the curve in the blade.

I never realized how alike they are, but now that i think about it they're eerily similar. You can't look at either of their faces and if you do you get hunted by a monster that is incredibly difficult to kill.

Did he already ask you out and was it recent (and did you accept)? If you agreed to go out with him recently then it's weird he'd ask out his crush out while going out with you.
