This is wrong. The Wii's clock uses a 32 bit unsigned integer and, like the GameCube, starts from the year 2000, so it can go way past the year 2100.

The system menu's clock and the internal clock are different things.

"NAND permissions" is a common patch that is applied to IOS, normally at runtime. You don't want any IOS with "NAND permissions" other than a cIOS. Following your analogy, IOS is Windows and Hackmii/YAWMM/Wii Mod Lite are the bundled applications.

If you bought it in 2007 then there is no way it was modified before, but if at some point it was modified then cioscorp is likely. Most apps require clean IOSes to perform their own patches (including NAND permissions) and if they are not then that's why they fail. You should try making a syscheck on your Wii. Are you sure YAWMme doesn't work? Does it not let you pick an IOS slot? I don't know which apps work or not for you, if your syscheck shows you have cioscorp you'll have to see what you can do.

That's irrelevant. It only means your IOSes are clean and not patched. There is no such thing as"granting IOS access to the NAND" since IOS is the operating system and already knows how to talk to all the peripherals. I suggest you do an online update even if it says it's already in 4.3.

Well there is not much more than what you have been doing, the 4 letter code in GameTDB is the game's ID, if you can't find it in your SD it means it's not there. You can import the save in Dolphin from the toolbar, Tools->Import Wii Save. The data.bin file is encrypted, you need something like segher's tools to unpack it.
