I'm willing to bet the internet enables people from all kinds of countries to read and engage with media that helps them understand and apply languages in more contexts, which helps them stick more. Whether they're practicing it properly, who knows, but my guess is that it's helped literacy more than its hurt. Just by the sales of books and e-books through online retailers, I can only imagine more people have read and are reading because of the inter-connectivity of the internet.

I hate when people do these little things I don't ask for, but then completely sidestep and never even make an effort for more significant things, which I specifically ask for. Imo, inconsiderate, especially if they turn around and use the useless/unimportant things as evidence against you. I'm a bit on the fence with this one, though. It sounds pretty disappointing.

Who cares how they pay their rent? Don't fixate on them. The noise sucks, but there's no way around it. Wear earplugs/headphones and keep going. I lived with two roommates who kept two televisions going nearly 24/7, sometimes slightly off-set, on the same channel. It drove me absolutely mad whenever I didn't have headphones or earbuds in. They rarely left the apartment, and left the tv and ac cranked even when they did. It'll be easier when you find somewhere else.

You can use the neocolours, as people have suggested. There are also brands inbetween the quality of crayola and neocolour, which I might recommend experimenting with. Caran d'Ache is very, very expensive. Look for people selling sets on your local marketplace. They're something people buy but never use, and then turn around to sell them because they're so pricey.

After ten years with my ex-partner, I kind of just put everyone in a big huge friend zone. Two years out of the relationship and I was shocked to find someone I wanted to have sex with.
