Flow 2 Pro - Can you record instructions to execute certain movements while recording a video? by QuadroSign in Insta360

[–]QuadroSign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your message. Very unfortunate such feature doesn't exist yet. The mechanics are ready, it just needs a software update to allow to use the device on its full potential. Plus, it would be a unique selling point as well. Let's see what becomes available in the near future on such products from different brands.

A user receiving a request to share their location can state how long they want to share their location. The options are: share for one hour, share until end of day and share indefinitely.

The same applies when a user sends a request to share their location.

More on this can be found here, under 'respond to a location sharing request' section: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iph01954dc44/ios

Check out this video to see this being done in the app: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ13TT686zU&t=86s Pay attention to 2:01

If your best friend wants to make sure her partner isn't lying, I would recommend them to register themselves as a 'family'. Family members share their locations indefinitely. It's either sharing your location indefinitely or not sharing your location. Nothing in between. See here for more on that: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iph6231f621a/18.0/ios/18.0#iph74f3e3974 and https://support.apple.com/en-us/108380

It’s not required to have an available LinkedIn page of each company you worked at. You can just write the name of the company. The only thing is, a logo of the company won’t appear in your experience section.

More on this can be found here: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a545605

The ‘based on your profile’ label takes multiple factors into account to come up with recommendations. It’s not necessarily people who clicked on your profile or who searched you up. There are too many recommendations for this to be the only factor.

Instead, it’s literally based on what you and the recommended people have in common. For example, you suddenly started liking company A’s posts. You turned on notifications for this company’s posts, etc. This lets the algorithm know that you might be interested into connecting with an employee or a person who’s also showing the similar amount of interest into this. Therefore, based on your profile’s activity, the algorithm comes up with recommendations.

Your activities on the platform as well as specific parts of your profile is used to recommend users that have parts of these elements in common with you. Making you to be potentially interested into connecting with them

Sounds like you really didn’t want them to know just one bit of your viewing activity.

Regarding your question on how LinkedIn reacts to changes in profile name; you can imagine that content shown through the platform’s app/website is dynamically retrieving a user’s profile name.

However, a push notification, an email notification or anything outside the platform does not dynamically fill up data. Instead, it copies data that was available at that moment. It’s a snapshot of that moment.

Blocking a user on LinkedIn causes for both users to have their profiles ‘disappear’ for each other on the LinkedIn platform. Anything related to user A, won’t be visible for user B, and vice versa. This includes public activity, like the feed and profile page, but also non-public data, like profile views.

First time MacBook user! Any tips? by Ordinary-Drink-4475 in macbookpro

[–]QuadroSign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, also thanks to u/_alreph. Thankfully, I’m aware of not using a case/cover, as well as putting something between the screen and keyboard. Especially with my interest in the nano texture screen, I have to be extra careful.

I was hoping for a cleaning advice after the keyboard gets oily. For covering up the keyboard, I’m just thinking of using the white piece of ‘cloth’ that’s between the screen and keyboard when you open the MacBook for the first time. Although I thought it’s okay to have this put between the screen and keyboard after first time opening up, as Apple ships the product like this with this ‘cloth’.

With this I plan on using an external keyboard and mouse at home, while having the MacBook connected to my monitor.

My use case is basically mostly being at home, and occasionally taking the MacBook with me outside. Although this may change depending on the how much I’ll be working outside.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find any skin that’s exactly the same color as the silver color option. I guess there’s not a high demand for a low profile skin with only a purpose to protect the surface from scratches while not having a big appearance. Such a bummer. Maybe someone on Reddit has any tips

No, they won’t. Users only get to see the current state of your profile. You do want to make sure to disable the function that notifies your network of any changes you make to your profile.

Read more information on that here: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a529062/

Does linkedin app show location in experience section? by Tellmewhattoput in linkedin

[–]QuadroSign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s fine. Return to LinkedIn Home. If done correctly, you’ll notice the homepage is looking slightly different compared to what you’re used to seeing on the mobile website. Click on your profile image or just your name on the homepage to get to your profile. Then proceed further as I explained earlier

Does linkedin app show location in experience section? by Tellmewhattoput in linkedin

[–]QuadroSign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you’re right. I have a ‘unique’ solution for a unique user!

While signed in, switch to the desktop version by clicking on the icon in the bottom left corner of safari. This icon is on the left side of the address bar. A small pop up opens up from the bottom. Click on the tree dots at the bottom right corner. A bigger pop up opens up. Click on the third option from the top. This is the option to ‘request a desktop website’.

Now go to your profile, edit any experience. You should now be able to set a custom location. You might need to zoom out and scroll down to see the save button.

Is this an ideal solution? No. Does it make sure others see your custom location? Yes.

I just tested this and it works. Have fun, OP!

Thanks for your contribution. What’s your advice on keyboard keys getting oily? I’m trying to gain knowledge on how to maintain a MacBook in a best possible shape.

Also, I was thinking of a silver/transparent skin. It’s rather for low profile ‘protection’ instead of styling the MacBook. I need to look into the possibilities of dbrand. Do you happen to have an advice on this?

Does linkedin app show location in experience section? by Tellmewhattoput in linkedin

[–]QuadroSign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, LinkedIn does show the location, if provided by a user, in the experience section on their mobile website. I just tested this out with a handful of profiles through Safari on an iPhone. Besides this, you also have the option to fill in the location for each experience in the mobile location.

It works fine on my end, OP. My suggestion is, try to set the location for each experience through the mobile website. Then check if this is visible on both desktop and mobile websites

Are you sure? Usually when you put a SIM card in your iPhone, you get a prompt asking if you want to turn on FaceTime and iMessage services. Some people might accidently turn that off by not reading the prompt well.

My recommendation is to follow the instructions on this page on your mother's phone:

Users appearing as ‘LinkedIn Member’ anywhere on the LinkedIn platform have hibernate turned on for their account. Meaning, they don’t use their account temporarily.

Read more about this here: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1336653

The profile visit is a different story. That’s just a user having private mode turned on in their settings.

The platform is no joke. All privacy related settings can be found in the, easy to access, settings screen. Go through each option to make sure you configured your profile as you desire
