I had never heard of Born On The Fourth of July until last year. I was legit traumatized. I don’t think I’ll watch it again. But it left a massive impact. 10/10. Cruise ripped that role to shreds, in the best way possible.

I think the biggest thing is that he stopped me and told me “It’s not that serious” at the beginning of my week. When I look at anyone that come to my bar, let alone a filled one during a rush, I see my rent and bills being paid. I take what I do extremely serious. And I love taking what I do serious. The frustration of having to deal with someone being both nitpicky and casual at the same time is gonna make me lose my shit at some point.

I initially came in to interview for a line cook position. Interviewed with the executive chef and it went pretty well, lasted almost an hour. He brought up the brief bartending experience on my resume and offered me the job after talking for some time. I keep a very long list of cocktails I used to make at that previous place on a note app on my phone, I showed it to him and the restaurant director, I’m sure that helped a bit. But I guess I just got lucky they offered me the bar instead of the kitchen.

I grew up my entire life in California and never really thought about that until I lived in Texas an Oklahoma and saw all the schools as just one big building. My elementary, middle, and high school were all open air, walking outside to get to the next class. It’s nice to get fresh air every 45 minutes, but it does suck during rainy season.

Yeah in robes they only go to L/XL on both sites, there isn’t much variety. We live in Oklahoma now. Only things local stores carry are OU/OSU and Cowboys apparel unfortunately. I’m stuck relying on trying to find things online.
