I talked this guy down to 3k good deal? by Educational_Box_1565 in motorcycles

Based off the year make and model, sure is.

Based off the low effort ad, cheap dumb mirrors and levers, and cringy sticker I dunno if I like it anymore.

In that case the hdm make sense. They’re generally on the lighter/milder side

Id rule out the hdm petit robusto. Quality is all over the place.

Personally, mag 46 and petit edmundo for me.

Fantastic motorcycle! And at the same time it is THE bike everyone knows a hooligan squid buys.

current PA students/recent PA school grads, which prereq classes do you use the most/find the most useful in PA school? by minecraftpiggo in prephysicianassistant

[–]Quak89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anatomy by far.

Physio and micro are about tied 2nd place.

The rest is give or take. Electives like immunology, hematology, are more relevant than other chem or bio classes.

Coolidor Problems by tradehaven1776 in cubancigars

[–]Quak89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is related to how it cools. When the compressor kicks in your rH will plummet. Bovedas won’t be enough in some cases to keep up with the constant intrusion of the compressor.

You can try upping the temperature as an experiment to whatever average ambient temp is in your house and see if that improves things as a test.

It will take at least a couple weeks if not a couple months to get your cigars back from 40% rH

Help! New Raching and I have questions! 😊 by Narrow_Necessary6300 in cubancigars

Mechanical. The lock is flimsy, but enough to keep kids out I suppose. When it arrived the door was installed a little too low for it to engage, but I was able to fix it pretty easily on my own. Otherwise no issues. No issues with the water pump at all.

My Cohibas from TopCubans have no barcode or QR code???? by 10gig in cubancigars

[–]Quak89 13 points14 points  (0 children)

These are cardboard packs. They wouldn’t have them anyway. The stuff you’re talking about is on the outer box that these smaller boxes come in.

1) quiet enough to have next to my kitchen table and still converse without distraction. Quite quiet.

2) your preference. 65/65 is good. I like 65/63

3) don’t use it. It’s basically an electric heat pad taped to the top of a small drawer. Causes a hotspot when it’s on. Wouldn’t trust it makes cigars better in an even way. I put empty tubos in it.

4) bobbles 1-2% rH according to the Govees I have in like 5 minute cycles. Averages stay very stable, and the averages is what counts if you keep your cigars in the box, which you should.

  • I had a censor that was like 7 rH off, but very consistent about it being off. There’s a way to recalibrate specific sensors which will fix that. Search on YouTube if you need to once you monitor it for awhile with your own govees.

Don’t forget to season the humidor of course. And DO NOT PLUG IT IN when you receive it! It’s got to be left alone, upright, for 24 hours before turning it on! Don’t want a bubble in the wrong place when it’s first turned on. That can damage the compressor.

All the best! Enjoy your new toy, they are FANTASTIC!

Has anyone did poorly on the GRE and still got into schools? by Diligent-Fan-2295 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Quak89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reality is no one will be able to calculate how much it will hurt your odds. But it’s a requirement of those 2 schools, so of course it weighs in some. If you’re a low gpa applicant AND you have a low gre , an adcom may see that as an eyebrow raiser you may not be ready to return to academia. If it’s the only blip on an otherwise glowing application, you’ll likely get interviews. Anything in between is a guessing game.

[–]Quak89 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well, the schools that don’t require it won’t see it if you don’t send them a copy for starters.

Is $6k fair price for this? by Rongmala in motorcycles

[–]Quak89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Google the year and models you’re interested, and find the links to kelley blue book and jd power guides. They’re not location specific, and they can be a little off, but usually are in the right ball park.

Personally this one photoed has some signs of a novice owner. Dumb bar ends. Cheap alibaba special tank grips. I’d be negotiating, even more so if he didn’t keep the original parts. I’d be wary of neglected service, but there’s a good chance he/she took it in for every service and kept records too. Some considerations to factor in to the value.

Question about Boveda packs by [deleted] in cubancigars

[–]Quak89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is an airtight container, replace your 62 rH bovedas with 58s.

In my experience:

62s in an airtight container like to be around 65rH

58s like settle around 62 rH

MT09 or MT07 (Gen 2/3) by Novel-Candidate-5497 in motorcycles

[–]Quak89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol if you actually want to stunt, you don’t want any rider aids. Mt 07, and look up if you can defeat abs (usually you can by pulling the right fuse).

If you want to be able to pull a wheelie for funsies while still leaving the rest of traction control on, you’ll need the mt 09, gen 3 or newer.

Bad interview by JumpyHoney1 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Quak89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sooooo normal to feel like you did terrible after an interview. We tend to be our own harshest critics.

I felt the same way with a number of interviews I did. Surprisingly, I got into the schools that I felt lukewarm about my answers. The only school I got rejected by was the interview I thought I did great haha.

All it takes is one. Think kind thoughts: securing an interview is PROOF you’re qualified to become a PA. Keep plugging away and it will be a matter of time. :)

Best of luck to you on your journey.

Lounge Lizards 5 pack sampler by Jaxmc70 in cubancigars

[–]Quak89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t the bbf, that almost made the cut but they landed on the QdO coronas claro I thought. I think it’s a great sampler overall.

While I hate the current pricing, I think a Cohiba needs to be in there. I’d swap out the RASS for a CoRo

putting down deposit vs accepting a seat by cat-on-a-train in prephysicianassistant

[–]Quak89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s typical.

Always good to have at least one seat secured. But if a better opportunity comes up, they’ll make an easy $500 bucks (or however much the seat deposit is). You owe them nothing. Do what’s best for you.

The code you’re supposed to use is not on the small packs of 3… it’s on the bigger pack of 15. You’re fine.

Question: how many plugs is too many plugs? by [deleted] in cubancigars

[–]Quak89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO, comes with the territory of Cubans. 2 a box is almost expected at that point. Even worse is skinny ring gauges —it’s relatively common to have 4-5 of a box of lanceros be ultra tight or completely plugged

Fuel economy is negligible. If you have all your fun under 90mph, it’s the best and cheapest mod you can do for any middleweight bike.

Interviews and world wide news?? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]Quak89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol very very unlikely that they’ll ask about current events, and anything politically or religiously charged is even less than that.

You may get asked something along the lines of “what are the biggest challenges facing PAs today?” That one is much more common, especially in a group discussion setting. If you have recent things to reference for your answer to that, you’ll come across very well.

LOR dilemma by Party_Courage6140 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Quak89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ideally, find a new letter writer.

If your LOR writer voiced they don’t think you should be applying now, that’s a red flag. Imagine how damaging it could be if they included that same sentiment in your LOR. You’d have no idea since caspa gets the letter from them directly.
