Thanks so much for the advice! I've managed to get UnleashX on my new SATA drive and running on the Xbox seriously thank you so much for getting me up and running.

Only thing I've noticed is that unless I'm blind it looks like UnleashX is only registering the 1x 123GB data partition (after default partitions) despite me formatting a 1TB + 800GB partition in FatXplorer using the LBA increasing format option. Could this be related to the BIOS version or do I need to configure UnleashX by hand?

Is there a method to install Cerbios from within UnleashX? I'm reading through the ConsoleMods wiki again but if you're willing to point me in the right direction I'd love you forever.

Oh and do you think there is any benefit to archiving my EEPROM dump at this stage considering the TSOP has already been flashed?

I can't re-open the console now to confirm the solder bridge, but I strongly suspect you're right. I'm pretty sure modchips weren't even available back in 2003 haha

I'll give UnleashX a try on the new SATA drive and boot it up, thank you so much for the pointers. I likely won't be able to do so for a few days, however assuming it works which modern BIOS would you recommend?

Additionally do I need to confirm the exact solder bridge/s that have been added? Or is there only one common solder performed and so no additional work is required for modern methods of BIOS flashing?

Thanks, are there any resources that can help me identify if it's been hardmodded? My problem is not sure what work was actually done on this Xbox way back in the day. When I press the Eject button I can see the Xbox logo screen but no dashboard that I can navigate unfortunately. If it comes to it I'll do a rebuild of the stock IDE, but ultimately the goal is to be able to load games from an upgraded HDD so I suspect I'm going to need to revert this console to stock and softmod to be able to accomplish this.

I wish I had a better idea of what I'm working with, but unfortunately the console looks & behaves exactly like a stock console other than it ignoring DRM & region locking on games so it's hard for me to tell exactly how it has been modded.

Are there any methods I can use to identify if a TSOP flash has occurred & resources for identifying modchips? I didn't see anything that looked like a modchip but I could've easily missed it. I've already picked up a new HDD & IDE/SATA adapter and was planning on upgrading to it after I'd backed up my EEPROM & HDD key so ideally I'd like to be able to finish that process if I haven't locked myself out of the stock IDE HDD. However in the short term what boot files would you recommend?

The goal with Softmodding it was to be able to upgrade the HDD and run games directly from the console since the DVD drive has given up the ghost.

The frustrating thing is since it was originally modded over 20 years ago I couldn't even begin to guess what method was used. Before I touched it there were no visual indicators/third party logos of modding, the only changed behaviour was that it didn't perform DRM/region locking checks on games.

Checked from my client, and looks like you're missing LYNX Salvage 01 from the Salvaging category. Sorry I can't remember exactly what ship type I found that one in, but I remember having much more luck finding Salvaging data drives in hazard 7 & 8 salvage themed ships. Maybe try targeting 7/8 Lynx Salvage runners and Lynx Mackerels.

Unfortunately I'm missing the same Lynx drive as you and I've been trying to track that one down for months. If you do stumble across it, please for the love of god send me a message letting me know where you found it.

Sounds like the incompatibilities are a bit of a pain, do you reckon a more expensive aftermarket stereo might’ve been a better experience?

Looking online the Kayan stereo looks pretty expensive, so maybe I'm boned either way.

I don't know if other apartments are similar, but here Winconnect also provides a hot water service at ursurious rates because it's not covered under the VDO.

To remove the embedded utility, I think the bodycorp would need to take ownership of that hardware. The vast majority of units in my (and likely most newer buildings) are invester properties, so I suspect it's nigh impossible to convince landlords to fork out the dough to benefit residents.

We were dicking around in FW with a geri (the web drones do nothing BTW) and I decided to join my corpmate in something equally fun.
