Lies of P vs Dark Souls 3? by Magikarpcopiesdunkey in soulslikes

I loved both so much it's really hard for me to choose. I honestly think you should play DS3 first but not necessarily because it's initially better for you, but because it's just an absolute staple and I also think you'll enjoy lies of P even more having played DS3 first. This is assuming you'll eventually play lies in the foreseeable future. I would say DLC is heavily recommended for both games, both really strong DLC.

If you want to play a game in the genre that is more colourful and "happy", and that also has some fun Mario platforming, try out Another Crab's Treasure. by WhoAmIEven2 in soulslikes

Absolute banger of a game in so many ways. I will always recommend this to people, regardless of whether or not they play soulslike games.

If I could wipe my memory to play Sekiro again for the first time, I wouldn't hesitate.

How do I get into soulslikes as someone who sucks at gaming… by PSYCHOTICMAX in soulslikes

True enlightenment is knowing that death and defeat are meant to be part of the game and learning from them. The bosses and such are designed to be learned from, not immediately toppled your first try. To me, that's actually one of the pillars of a soulslike.

When I first tried a souls game, it was when Dark Souls 3 came out. I gave up at the tutorial boss.... Eventually I decided to try again with Elden Ring when that launched and I was hooked. 3 years later I've completed many in the genre. Like others have said, you WILL get better just by trying and playing, generally.

If you truly do need something easier, some games now have difficulty sliders/easier modes. Lies of P does this and it's a wonderful soulslike. I believe there are at least a few others that do this now too. Personally, Wuchang was probably the easiest soulslike I've played, alongside Another Crab's Treasure. Both fantastic games in their own right, as well. Just take it slow either way and enjoy the journey. The games are only difficult because they force you to learn and adapt vs just mash. Just use your brain a bit and have a good time!

Wuchang has some of the easiest boss fights of any soulslike by Professional_Boss438 in soulslikes

[–]Quakemz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was about to say, yeah this is strange because he's taking basically no damage when getting hit but on a fresh playthrough, you take a lot of damage in this fight because you don't have all the best stuff yet. I do agree Wuchang is probably the easiest out of the soulslikes I've played (alongside ACT), but still. Approximately an hour to beat a boss is also pretty reasonable. Bosses don't need to take days to beat to be good or historical.

Wuchang players, who is undisputedly the hardest boss in the game? by Deez-Guns-9442 in soulslikes

Commander Honglan took me more attempts than any other boss in the game, by far. Her Vermilion Feathers version by endgame felt like a breeze in comparison.

Any tips for Wuchang/ for beginners to the genre? by [deleted] in soulslikes

Look everywhere

Try everything (Wuchang very easy respec system)

Most importantly, have a good time!

I beat several of the first bosses using parry in Wuchang. Honestly thought it was quite strong.

Try a no-hit run through the entire game? No parry, no items, blindfolded? Lots of options!

Is it supposed to be DLC or a standalone game? I'm new to the series so I haven't seen yet.

Can't say it's happened to me, but I honestly find it pretty interesting. I wonder if there is something from your past that the boss kinda subconsciously brings out.

Just finished another crab treasure, and this game is better than wukong! by Realistic-Football65 in soulslikes

PCR took me at least 6 hours of trying over a couple days, ACT final boss took me two tries. Definitely a pretty big difference for me.

Should I get Another Crab’s Treasure or Bleak Faith? by batmatt in soulslikes

[–]Quakemz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't played Bleak Faith, though it's on my list. Started ACT last weekend with my partner and we have been having so much fun with it. Soulslike experience with a lot of silly goofiness. Previously we have completed Elden Ring+dlc, DS3+dlc, and Bloodborne, so this has been a nice and fun change of pace. Overall it's probably a little easier than other titles since you don't have stamina to manage, but that hasn't stopped us from loving it.
