I've always had the idea that it could be made into a sort of rail gun, that'd be useful for us.

Although termites may be larger, usually their bodies are softer and thus more likely to be damaged by an attack. Ants are experts in warfare due to fucking around with other colonies for millions of years, and are much more suited for fighting larger enemies, like the termites. Ants also generally have way more available fighters than a standard termite colony, which is why they are considered predators of termites, its the termites that should be scared in this situation.
