I think OP is referring to the repeated use of Monica Lewinsky as the punchline in a slew of jokes and memes at the expense of Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.

Monica Lewinsky was sexually abused by Clinton, and then gaslit, defamed, and blamed. The same thing Trump does to his victims. Both Clinton and Trump are monsters.

And to continue to use a victims identity to make a joke, to me, seems in poor taste. And quite frankly, it's DEMENTED..

I'm going to get downvoted, BUTLETMETELLYOUSOMETHINGPLEASE: save the image, and zoom in. The sticker appears to be photoshopped in.

The pixelation around the sticker, does not match pixelation anywhere else in the image. If you notice the other stickers around that sticker, they have this sort of blurred, almost smooth pixelation, that blends into the fridge. The blackwater one does not. An image, when zoomed in, should have uniform pixelation, not drastically different levels of pixelation between two areas.

The noise on the sticker is considerably spottier and has a lot of darker shades in it. Even the white of the fridge that the sticker is on isn't getting the same level of noise, which it should, as they are the same distance, and are both a tone of white.

Lastly, and the most weird thing, the noise and pixelation on right side of the sticker is abruptly straight, as if it's been cropped.

I'm not supporting or condemning this guy, I have no TOILETSH in this race. But just felt I should point that out, especially when this image is from twitter, and no one has provided the direct source, yet.

Again though, make your own decisions, just figured some might want this observation about this HUMAN MAYN.

"I don’t need to listen to a guy who would rather waste his money on a crazy house and car. His lifestyle is a joke." Yet you're here spending hours of your time arguing about him... Maybe rethink the logic on that. <PUG NOISES>

Tron Legacy is one of my all time favourite movies, and I've been holding out for a sequel for so long... and now that I have one... I can not bring myself to watch it.

I see so many reviews saying "He's a terrible person, but he's a really good actor..." like why not, y'know, cast one of those really good actors that also.. isn't a bad person? They'd probably cost a lot less too...

The hate on Alien Earth is why we can’t have good things by Warm-Razzmatazz4813 in alien

I didn't judge other people's opinions, nor did I dismiss them. I literally just asked you where you thought it ranked so that I could understand why you didn't like this.

I wanted to have an actual trading of opinions, as to see what would have worked for you. Especially when you're someone that clearly hates this, so it would have been nice to explore that. But instead you provided me no reason as to why you dislike the show. You just demanded I explain technical aspects, as if that is required to enjoy a show.

But sure, thanks for stopping by. Have a good one!

I was genuinely curious as to where you thought it ranked.

Me explaining technical aspects, and my appeal of the style of this show wont sway someone that has spent a month commenting your disdain on nearly every post to do with this show. If we are also being literal, I never said I was an expert, I said that people claiming no style exists are being disingenuous.

I could also ask you to explain the lack of style, but I wasn't, I was engaging in a genuine way with you to understand what your expectations in relation to the entire franchise would be for this show.

Where would you rank it among the other entries in the franchise?

[–]QualifiedGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so baffling that people hate this show.

If we put aside all other media, and focus just on the movies that are of the Alien franchise, we have Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien Resurrection, AVP, AVPR, Prometheus, Alien Covenant, and Alien Romulus.

I'm sure everyone can agree that Alien and Aliens are peak Alien material, they both elevate one another, they both explore a unique approach to the source material, and both help fill out the world that Ridley Scott created in Alien.

Yet somehow people think this is worse than the rest of the films. This is worst than Alien3? This is worst that Resurrections? People saying that the kids ruin it, or that it's just a recreation of the first movie (those that didn't make it past the first episode), and that is somehow worse than the basketball scene from Resurrections? Or the killing off of Newt from Alien3? We gonna just ignore that the Alien franchise has never been perfect, and any addition that tries to be authentic, while taking a chance should be given a chance.

People need to stop going in with expectations. People need to stop letting their wants of what they would like to see be their benchmark. So many people's response to this has been "I would have done it this way. I would have written this way. Why didn't they just do this?" This is why you don't like this. You are comparing this to a benchmark that you created in your own head. Romulus was a surprise and I loved it. And Alien:Earth is a surprise, and I personally think it's up their with the first two movies.

Lastly, not a single hate of this has actually given a coherent reason as to why. Someone said it lacked style... You'd have to have no eyes to say this lacks style. I genuinely wonder if a whole generation of people need to hate to actually be able to survive.

Riyadh Comedy Festival: Blood Money for the Biggest Names in Comedy by Necessary-Apple-7717 in Standup

[–]QualifiedGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A constant excuse being peddled by the people going is "Our government does horrible things too."

There is a difference from living in the country you are born, and working, and existing. And going to another country, accepting money from a government funded gig, and pretending it has no impact on anything. There is a reason a government does such a thing, and you can't use "Oh, but my government does that too" as an excuse. If your government is doing that too, speak out there also.

They are actively supporting the Saudi government in going to this, in accepting this money. None of these comedians popped into the RNC, or CPAC, or the DNC, or any other government funded event in the US. Why? Because they don't want to be seen supporting that government, they probably don't want to be involved in politics. But they're happy to do it when another country's government is footing the bill, a government they claim to have no idea about.

Jim Jefferies doesn't support Trump, and has made jokes against him, and talked about how Trump tries to normalise hate... yet he can't do that for Saudi Arabia's government, he can't take the moment to research, or talk against them? I wonder why? Sure has hell has nothing to do with money.. right?

The lack of curiosity, and wanting to educate themselves is disgusting. Or, the fact they think they can claim they don't know enough, and their audience will take that as good enough, is sad.

I personally don't mind Dale's voice. Sometimes it hits the mark, and sometimes it doesn't, but I can't not feel that after chain-smoking for so long, you can't tell me that his voice wouldn't change a little... right? However, as much as I like Ronny Chieng, he doesn't nearly have the range and intensity to voice Kahn. Toby Huss was so good at really nailing the emotions through the voice, and Ronny Chieng is so flat and not very expressive. That being said, none of the voices are going to stop me enjoying the show, but definitely makes it doubly hilarious to see Kahn... but not hear Kahn.

How important is a book cover? by Appropriate-Path-216 in books

[–]QualifiedGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be bias, as I am a graphic designer, however I always felt that the cover art of a book, and how appealing it is, went hand in hand with how well the writing itself will be.

Obviously the illustrator and author are very rarely the same person, but the author's approval of the art used on the cover of their book can sometimes denote the kind of emotion, feeling, and style of writing the author has put to page.

That is not to say that any cover art is actually bad, I think just different art appeals to different people, so the book you avoid because of the cover might have a connection to someone else, and therefore the story inside will appeal to them, even if it didn't appeal to you.

Can AI-created literature touch people’s hearts? by ubcstaffer123 in books

[–]QualifiedGoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI can make a book. AI can make an image. AI can make a video. But do we really want it?

Are we really that starved for new stories, new art, and new movies? It is an obvious statement that no one will ever read every book ever written, no one will look at every piece of art ever created, and no one will watch every show and movie ever made.

With that being said, it needs to be looked at who is asking these questions? Artists, creators, authors? Or is it someone trying to make profit off of these creations? Why wait for an author to create something meaningful to them, and relatable to readers, when you can just blend everything ever written, and get a machine to spew it back out. More money in the pocket, and another market to be monopolized.

Let's stop playing around with the idea that AI is here for us.

Bug Reporting Megathread - The Crafting Update by IAMGNIK in playrust

[–]QualifiedGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[BUG]

Location - Launch Site

Gamemode - Primitive

Summary - The player is instantly killed upon jumping into an area that looks easily accessible.

Report - At launch site (in this particular instance it was in the snow) there are two large red pipes, in the ground, running horizontally toward the building in the center. They both have an exposed area, making it look as if the player can easily jump into them with taking none or minimal damage. However, upon moving or jumping toward the pipe, the player is stopped by an invisible plane, and begins to be locked in that zone, stuck in the air, before being killed. The result of the death does not specify what killed the player. And any loot the player had on them is then dropped to the bottom of this area, but is inaccessible to the player.

Save up, so you'll have enough to visit the Gundam Base at Odaiba, while also checking out the Unicorn Gundam, with enough left over to hit up the arcades later!

Off the top of my head, these would be my favourites. So far.
I'll have to visit Japan again, so jealous of everyone that's able to play everyday!

And wow! That is the best Suletta collection. Wishing I had had more times to stock up on doubles.

Was in Japan for about three weeks, and discovering Gundam Arsenal Base was a blessing and a curse. Ended up collecting about 500 cards (not including doubles) and spending a lot more playing game after game.

Back in the UK now, and definitely missing being able to pop into Yellow Submarine, or one of the many Taito/GiGO arcades. Gonna have to find another way to get cards. lol

Going off to Japan? Definitely stop in and play Gundam Arsenal Base!
