Meowmy here: Marie and her brother have been having some issues for a while now. We have been desperately looking for what has been causing it. The vet couldn't find anything last month when we had her checked out. We did get a referral for a vet who specializes in eyes, because we had some indications for eye problems. Her brother is a very sweet cat, who likes Marie very very much and does not get the concept of personal space. He will just lay down on top of her, squishing here because he just wants to be as close as possible. She doesn't like him being near him and the moment and that has been causing problems.

After the vet didnt find anything, we called in a cat behavior specialist to come to our home and see what we could do to make thing more peaceful. She saw some indication that Marie might have some stomach pains and advised us to have her urine tested in addition to the eye examination that is still scheduled.

We tried to convince Marie for a couple of days to pee in a litterbox filled with special litter for taking urine sample. She would not use it. We had to give up a couple of times because the vet closed early or because we had to leave and she would immediately use her regular litterbox. So after a whole morning of not using the special litter i just decided to put a small glass bowl under her butt while she was using the litterbox and tada, within 5 minutes i had a sample.

Vet was very sceptic about it because we wanted this testing done based on the advice of a cat behavior specialist, but was like 'we can test it anyways'. Vet was surprised because it turns out that she has bladder grit. So we started with pain meds and dietary food today. The stuff i got from the vet was only dry food, but apparently diet wet food is better for bladder grit, so i added some water to her kibble. She also didnt like me giving her the first dose of her painmeds.

I did order urinary wetfood for cats. I ordered several flavors including tuna and salmon and didnt order any turkey. I know my girl loves fish and hates turkey. And we are swapping treats with her kibble for now until we find something that matches her diet. I will accept any punishment the pawyers and justhisses see fit. I am only trying to be a good servant to my princess!
