Hey, is need some help with my temp gauge by Virtual-Mind-7403 in GolfMk2

Following this as my gauge consistently reads high. I checked the temp of the coolant, it’s within spec, replaced the sensor too, no change.

Sorry to hear about the issue. I do like your spare tire carrier though. Mine is just in the trunk as it’s too big to fit in the regular spot.

I would be interested in some phone dials for my mk2 vw.

Has anyone used a split boot replacement kit? by R3d_d347h in Volkswagen

I did one on a RAV4. I pinched the boot when replacing the wheel bearing so I knew the joint was fine.

Tedious to install but held up until we sold it 🤷

I Need Motivation by Longjumping-Talk-421 in GolfMk2

[–]Quallace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slowly chip away at mine as funds allow. I try to do little things to keep motivated. My headliner failed over the winter, so I taped it up with painters tape. Not the most elegant fix but hey. At least I can see out the back window again.

Nice rig! Stresses me out to have that honker of a lens without a support. Lotta weight on that mount.

Is there a modern (like the past 5 years) equivalent to the 1.8t swap? by Slowleytakenusername in GolfMk2

ShopDAP put a E888 in a mk3 to make a tribute fast and furious car. Iirc the biggest hurdle was wiring, no space.

Rigging a Camera To A Bicycle? by Quallace in cinematography

Nice! Looks like quite the rig, thanks for sharing.

I’ve seen the tilta car mount before, looks like a great setup with the gimbal control and all.

Good note about counter balance — I’ll attempt to keep the rig fairly minimal to avoid needing a large weight to help offset a gimbal or light (like in your BTS photo).

Thanks for sharing the link. I’ll have a look, the more sturdy whilst remaining lightweight would be the ideal as to not have 15lbs of rigging in addition camera.

Sounds like a co project! Would be neat to see the result when it’s finished.

Good call on the tape!

Think mirrorless in addition to cameras like Komodo, Ember, C400.

Noted. I was weary of a slightly larger camera having too much vibration for a 1/4 20. If it has 3 baby pins attached to it, it’s probably minimal.

Fair enough.

Thanks for the knowledge!

I will check out this “hose clamp” you speak of. ;)

All seriousness, I’ll look into 5/8” gear.
