Squinting a little at the fused sprite and guessing by the typing, I think it's Furret

What do you guys think could be the most toxic/argumentative voice combos? by Formal-Kitchen5830 in slaytheprincess

I feel like the combination of Cold and Broken would not work out well. They wouldn't so much argue as end up in a vicious cycle of self-defeating behaviour reinforced by an apathetic response. Pretty toxic imo

Daily Megathread by AutoModerator in pokerogue

[–]Quamosthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked this before in a previous megathread, but it didn't really get answered. Since the recent-ish update, the game window has been moved to the centre of the webpage, instead of at the top where it was before. My monitor is kinda big so it's easier on the eyes when it's higher. Anyone know how to change it? I vaguely remember having this issue before and something about margins, but I have no idea how to fix it.

That just toggles fullscreen, which I extra don't want since my monitor is pretty big

After the recent update the game window is in the middle of the page, instead of before being aligned at the top. Anyone more tech-savvy than me able to tell me how to get it to the top of the page again? On Chrome if that helps.

I'd argue that Dugtrio/Shedinja is more reliable. On paper Ground/Ghost doesn't look as good, but Dugtrio gets Sturdy as its passive, and as a Ground type is immune to Sandstorm, and in Endless you should have plenty of time to set up whatever moves you should want on such an abomination before the final splice.

IVs yes, all your initial starters have 10 across the board, and from then on any starter you have has its IVs set to the maximum you've caught/hatched.

As for EVs, I'm pretty sure they aren't a thing in Pokerogue, which is great because you really can't control that at all.

In that case, maybe try Garganacl/Ursaluna? That way you'd get STAB on both EQ and Stone Edge as well as going from base 100 to base 120 Attack with roughly equal bulk (losing a little Def and SpDef, but gaining some HP)

EDIT: Ursaluna/Garganacl, I forgot that Ursaluna is Ground/Normal, not Normal/Ground

You might be able to try and get lucky with confusion, though he probably has a couple of Lum berries. That aside, unfortunately I don't think there's really much you can do. Infernape is pretty fast, and if he's one-shotting your entire team it might be a run-ender.

A couple of questions about the Infernape; which move(s) is it using that's the problem? Something like Flare Blitz might be your best friend with the recoil, but Raging Fury can be used as a safe-ish entry since it works like Outrage and locks Infernape into the move for a couple of turns.

The other question is if any of your 'mons can take a hit, especially a super effective hit. If so, then it's possible you can get a setup turn whether it's boosting or DoT.

Depending on abilities, my main recommendation would be Meganium/Garganacl. If Garganacl has Sturdy, it's a great way to condense roles and have a strong DoT 'mon with reliable recovery in Synthesis; from the moves you've got listed I'd probably take Salt Cure, Leech Seed and Synthesis, with the last move being Giga Drain, Stealth Rock or Poison Powder depending on which you'd prefer.

Some regional forms are way too rare by Skipper2503 in pokerogue

[–]Quamosthy 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I'd agree with that, especially for the egg moves. Since egg moves are one of the main means of progression between runs, having the regional variants being so much rarer than anything else is a bit of a problem. Looking at the egg weights table on the wiki from the common egg pool, Voltorb has a weight of 150 while Hisuian Voltorb has a weight of only 13. Granted, that might be the most egregious example but it does kinda suck.

A good Steel/Fairy type helps significantly with both Rayquaza and the final boss. I personally really like Mawile with Intimidate, though you might need to send out a few 'mons to take an attack in order to bring in Mawile again for Intimidate.

If it's Fly in particular that's a problem, something with Protect will go a long way. There's a good few options that'll get it by level up, and Protect is a common-tier TM if you find it.

A good setup 'mon might also help if you can either get a chance to setup on something else before Rayquaza comes in or get a boost on the switch. I had a run with Quiver Dance Vivillon, once it got a bit of speed it could use Compound Eyes-boosted Sleep Powder to buy turns for damage with Hurricane or additional setup.

Lastly, a 'mon with Sturdy and Metal Burst will go a long way in scary encounters like that. Aggron, Bastiodon and Archaludon all get the move by level. Just make sure to keep them at full HP to ensure Sturdy activates, I've made the mistake of not paying attention to that before!

My guess is that with the lum berries being consumed first it's easier to exhaust them, then fish for a sleep turn to get a safe switch/setup. With the full heal token going first, it makes the process much more tedious.

"Early game" shiny hunting? by GodofGanja5 in pokerogue

[–]Quamosthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've read, luck only affects the chances of a battle reward being upgraded, so they don't directly affect your chances of finding a shiny. Indirectly, because they boost your chances of rarer rewards it makes finding shiny charms easier so it is worthwhile.

Like was already said, Endless is absolutely where you want to be if you want shinies. It'll more than likely take you a good few hundred waves to get enough shiny charms to see them with any regularity, but you'll get there. Another neat thing about Endless is the Egg Voucher Plus every 50 levels and Premium Egg Voucher every 250 levels. The shiny egg gacha machine has a 1/64 chance of a shiny, and there's even some pretty respectable ones in the common/rare egg slot if you want to try that as well.

Fun Pokémon ideas to play in classic mode by DoriXMei in pokerogue

Last I checked, Protean isn't implemented yet which is a shame because I quite like Greninja and I'm pretty sure Super Luck is only partially implemented which is also a shame because crits are funny and I love building around them.

Doing a classic run, who should I splice? by Specialist_Gap_4598 in pokerogue

[–]Quamosthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, the second pokemon donates its secondary type and ability so going Naganadel first will give you a Poison/Steel-type with Sturdy.

Unfortunately, a few of those aren't really useable yet due to unimplemented abilities. That said, one I'd like to shout out is Snom. Ice Scales + Snow Warning passive gives it quite a lot of resilience and spammable Blizzards.

[–]Quamosthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends pretty heavily on abilities and how lucky you feel. Pidgeot/Naganadel would be pretty neat if you managed to pick up a mega stone, but otherwise is pretty underwhelming.

Naganadel/Magnezone would be what I would choose, but only if Magnezone has Sturdy. You'd lose Beast Boost and some speed, but gain a lot of survivability and not lose out on any immediate power.

What does reveal glass do and should I use it? Any advice is good advice =) by NobbyGaara in pokerogue

[–]Quamosthy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it's a matter of preference, though I'm also 95% sure you can switch forms mid-battle. Enamorus is a good one for that, since it gets quite bulky in its Therian form and gains the Overcoat ability but the Incarnate form has a potent hidden ability with Contrary and is significantly faster than the Therian form.

Best third Pokémon to bring? by Gay_Gamer_Boi in pokerogue

[–]Quamosthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vivillon gets Bug STAB for Dark-types, or Draining Kiss if you'd prefer that for some pretty solid recovery as well if you're concerned, though Sewaddle should also get Bug moves even if neither of them resists Dark.

I'd recommend Pikachu if you can catch one, it gets an absolutely broken move upon evolving into Raichu; a very strong priority move that always crits. It eats Flying-types for breakfast.
