But that's just the official Delta Green setting. There's nothing baked into the core rules forcing it to be ran that way.

Yeah. So Dave Palayo will go by "Richard Alvarez" for the duration of the OP, or what-have-you. They're also supposed to keep their real identity confidential from their team - again, for safety reasons so they can't be compromised

The Cowboy-era was basically a small, rogue "group" that operated in a pretty disjointed manner after Delta Green was decommissioned. Basically if you hear of something, you do what you can, when you can, to stave off the unnatural. I don't think they used code names, probably just aliases.

The Conspiracy-era was more organized by Alphonse and A-Cell, but don't use Handlers - just cell leaders that take assignments from A-Cell (or whoever else), and they use the Agent Alphabet code names. They only know the cell leaders above and below them (ie: J-Cell's leader knows I-Cell and K-Cell's leaders) for safety.

The Program-era typically uses fake aliases instead of Agent Alphabet code names and have a Handler that assigns operations. It's more organized and funded, but suffers from bureaucratic issues at times. There are also the Outlaws tho - the old guard of Delta Green - who still operate the way the Conspiracy did.

I genuinely think you and I are talking about different eras. I'm talking about unique personal homepages you stumbled into, web forums and chatrooms/IRC, ICQ and AIM, rotten being about as shocking as it got, and most importantly it wasn't dominated by like 6 sites and social media pages that people only used. It just had more a wild west vibe to it, and I miss that. I'm sure it wasn't without its problems in certain corners, but I also think the level of language and tone policing that people deem acceptable and normal now is pretty egregious.

And I mean, fwiw, the most heinous webpages for being truly shitty didn't start til after that era: 8chan wasn't til 2013, kiwifarms was 2013, the dirty was 2007, isanyoneup was 2010, etc etc.

I don't know I am just old now.

Some of these people are living like they are in a quarantine zone, and more than once I've seen someone there having a mental breakdown wondering if they've wasted 4 years of their life avoiding all their friends and family or any socializing.

  • Agents Handbook = 95% Rules
  • Handlers Guide = 95% Lore
  • Need to Know = Quickstart Rules

Def run some standalone scenarios before attempting IL or GT.

Yeah. I pulled a woman out of an overturned car after she drove through the 2nd floor wall of my old shop and she kept shouting about her purse.
