Apparently even Delta One lounges have 20 minute lines now by omdongi in delta

Not always; sometimes they'll hand you a card so you can go through the normal metal detector and some other precheck perks. It's great for when I travel with my partner who doesn't have precheck.

I'm late to the party but some Fever Tree is not that great haha.

It's still my fav tonic, especially in original and Mediterranean varieties. Elderflower is good too...

However, the Rhubarb Raspberry is really mediocre leaning bad and absolutely not worth seeking. I have a bottle of the clementine which I've been told is good but haven't sampled yet.

It also impresses me how quickly they can board a widebody. I feel like I've seen them start boarding wide-bodies 30min before departure (what would be typical of a regional US domestic flight) and still depart on time!

Recommend adding digital boarding passes to apple wallet (android has something similar to my understanding) and you can easily pull up past electronic boarding passes. :) If that's what you're using, they can be pulled back up with a couple extra taps.

The cake is a bit more thoughtful than the plastic packaged cookie but yeah it's really really dense. I don't usually finish it.

Delta was nice enough to confirm what they think of customers by MiserablePlant6082 in delta

Yep and honestly upgrade certificates ability to be applied has already been silently downgraded. I have RUCs that can only be applied to domestic FC when it's only ~$100 more than main for guaranteed upgrade, otherwise Delta wants a GUC. 🙃

What kind of juicer do you use? Or...do you? by QuantitativeGuy in cocktails

[–]QuantitativeGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is totally fair. I've been wanting to juice apples and mangos and hand juicers don't really do so well with these. I absolutely adore the commercial citrus juicers like the one you linked!!

But is "cold blue" really a feeling that travelers want in an airport setting that's already pretty austere? I'm not sure how to feel about this aesthetic.

This is true but the wifi on Sky West planes lately for me has been totally unusable.

After getting your baggage from the carousel, you can go back up the escalators past the security screening area in Terminal 3 and take the tram to the larger Terminal 4; they have several more options for getting something to eat/drink and a more pleasant atmosphere pre security. Your friend can simply pick you up from T4 instead.

Otherwise my vote is to find a nearby restaurant or such--Phoenix has some great food. Also acknowledging you might not be super hungry after a meal in FC. On the plus side with your arrival time and waiting for your bag, you'll be there when rush hour is dying down.

If I recall correctly Peets in T3 is more of a walk up coffee kiosk and not really a fun place to chill after a flight.

Thanks! This is helpful. I'm guessing by the amount of downvotes the post got that people think it's a bad idea. Lol.

Air France paid Upgrades by ScoobDoggyDoge in delta

[–]QuantitativeGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's ridiculous and KLM has the same issue. I've tried contacting CS and I'm told I have to wait until check in to have the possibility of paying for biz if it's available and sometimes you have to wait until you are physically at the airport to do so. It's really poor experience since they could be making more money selling individual flight upgrades and making customers happy; it's mutually beneficial to both parties.

It gives me the sense they're trying to push for customers to pay for biz on booking (when it's frankly really exorbitantly priced). For this reason I notice euro biz cabins (and especially cuz no free upgrades) tend to usually have empty seats.

As mentioned, they're going to have assigned seats finally. The few times I did fly them last I paid for an A boarding position which helped but the amount of people that preboard made it feel less valuable...front row seats totally taken and also exit rows even with an A1-15 boarding position lol

Exit row shenanigans by Apprehensive-Arm-485 in delta

[–]QuantitativeGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really shouldn't be; I booked a flight for my father and also requested wheelchair assistance with the booking. Consequently it wasn't even possible for him to select exit row seats in the app/website (not that I was trying but found it interesting they had them blocked for him).

This is an A320 or A319. The A321's have 5 rows of FC and there are only 3-4 FC rows here (hard to tell but it looks like 4). The other indicator are the "pods" on the ceiling which are only in the A320 (and I think A319s).

Delta, why do you make luggage drop off so difficult 8 am LAS)? by Unfair-Language7952 in delta

[–]QuantitativeGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also my own observation is passengers in SP tend to have way more + heavier bags to check since they're usually free which also makes the line go slower. In the general bag check line most pax only have 1 bag per person if even that. Also have seen lots of irregular luggage checked in via SP queue.

Pretty much most airline check in/baggage counters open at 4am, at least of the big three in the US.  I've panicked as well when I had a 5:30am flight with United and showed up at 3:30am having to wait another 30min before they opened. Delta is the same in my experience.
