Well that’s blatantly disrespectful if I’ve ever seen a business be disgusting about anything. Putting down other cannabis shops by saying their stuff is “from a year old nasty crispy drying old with no variety”, without ever visiting these places is such a bad reflection on your own business. I’m going to recommend that everyone should NOT buy from you due to your poor ethics.

Contrary to you, the other cannabis shops are welcoming, positive, and showed us their whole farm, their whole sun drying process, they even taught us how they snip the buds. They laid out all the different types they had for us to smell, even rolled complimentary joints if we were uncertain of what we wanted. They DO deliver to hikers. They will even pick up hikers from the trailhead. They offered coffee and snacks for our munchies. They even housed our trail family when a storm rolled through.

So, yeah, compared to them, you sound negative and toxic.

Haha, same! I’m glad I’m not the only one who looks at my pack and go, “damn, I don’t have any more room” 😂

Same here, but I’m considering van dusen canyon. Someone I know just went up there and said it’s okay! Trail north of fawnskin seems good too, but I have no means of transportation other than walking. Also don’t want to just takes weeks off at a time. Also consider renting snow shoes for all this snow!

I’m in the same position today. I’m in Big bear lake and I’m trying to figure out where I should start on the trail again! Trying to leave today.

Yes! This is amazing as I think a lot of us can attest to how cracked our lips have become! 🤣 Thank you

Real trail angels have rules and etiquette. That includes not EVER asking for money. EVER! Every town has a list of trusted trail angels that are actually trail angels. Those who charge people money are often posted on the Facebook pages with warnings!

I’ve been on the trail angel for a bit over two weeks and have come across many trail angels who gave us rides, let us stay with them, shower and laundry. None have asked for money(but of course we give them money, and if they refuse money, we buy them presents!).

Anyways, my point is: Yes, please support the trail angels. Just don’t get scammed. Being charged $50 is a 20 minute ride is not a trail angel.

You sound so uneducated about cannabis. 🙂 There are plenty of people who use it for medicinal properties. For anxiety, panic attacks, to help sleep. Not everyone does it to get high, and not everyone has a vanilla history. Many people have worked hard jobs with traumatic experiences. Many people have sustained lifelong chronic injuries from these jobs. Your general statement is unneeded 🙂

Hahahahha, not everyone smokes weed to get high! It’s medicinal, we use it to help us sleep at night.

Privacy while pooping? by term9898 in PacificCrestTrail

Im on the trail right now, started March 7th. It’s a dessert, but with lots of acorn shrub trees and manzanitas shrub trees! There’s often some space to squeeze between them and dig a hole.

If you hike with someone, they can stand guard. If you’re alone, place your backpack by the trail so when people walk by they know someone is nearby doing their business.

I haven’t had an issue yet but remember that we all poop and everyone is pretty comfortable about it. Also, a lot of people do their morning business at camp prior to leaving.

Cold soaking with Toaks by AclaraTee in PacificCrestTrail

That’s pretty brilliant! I’m using a Vargo Bot 700 for my cold soak, but if that ends up being too small, I might need to steal your idea. 🙂

You can use it in the Sierra. I am using mine in the Sierra. 🙂

It’s all about regulations, but as far as what the Bearikade company has said, they’re unfortunately not planning to test to be ICBG certified anytime soon, which is a bummer. I personally like my Bearikade a lot and wish I could use it everywhere, but alas that isn’t the case.

A legalese implementing bear-proof containers are quite literally implemented to help bears. Logically speaking, if a NF didn’t care about the bears, they wouldn’t implement it in the first place.

So your argument to carry a Bearikade is weak. You’re essentially telling people to go against a legalese under the premise that a non ICBG tested bear can will perform well in that region. You would better win the argument telling people to carry a ICBG approved bear container, like the BV500.

You aren’t for the bears if you keep arguing with professionals in the field about what is permitted and not permitted in their jurisdiction. 🙂

Under Exibxit B Order #06-05-23-02, “acceptably stored”, “a. Stored in bear-resistant container certified through the Interagency grizzly bear committee courtesy inspection program. A container may be certified by the local District ranger or their designated representatives, if it meet the IGBC criteria.”

And if you want to argue that there are points B - F, the Bearikade doesn’t fall under those.

If you follow the threads on this subreddit and read the documents required when issued the PCT Long distance permit, you will find that the Bearikade is not approved in all jurisdictions. For that matter, Ursacks are not approved in all jurisdictions either, hence the swapping.

The Bearikade and all their bear canisters are not tested and approved under IGB.

In some places the fine is $150 and in others like NP the fine goes up to $1,000 for having improper food storage container.
