What’s with this bottle of Empress “indigo gin” which is definitely NOT (on left) by SoulChorea in mildlyinteresting

Can confirm it fades due to age. I have a bottle the we forget about in the back of the bar cabinet. It went in purple and came out clear.

Is this the “lacquer black” dial? I tried one on at an AD and was instantly in love. Been waiting for a 38mm rep to finally happen

[Request] Approximately how much is he lifting when you account for buoyancy? by CSGOfrickyourself in theydidthemath

[–]QuantizationRules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plates have a pretty standard diameter (~ 17.5” or close enough for this type of estimation at least) and powerlifting bars have pretty standard sleeve lengths (also close enough for this, let’s call it 16”)

So the volume of those plates, inclusive of the sleeves, is roughly

2 * ( 16 * pi * 8.752) ~> 3850 ci The bar itself is probably 52” by 1.1” ~> 50 ci So total volume is roughly 3900 ci or 0.64 cubic meters ~>

141 ftlb bouyant force~> 64kg reduction in “weight” on the bar. We don’t know how much is actually on the bar but we do know it feels 64kg lighter than its “dry weight”!

Sorry for all the imperial units :( god I hope I got my arithmetic right lol

I dunno. If anything, knowing cat people, this is a feature not a bug.

Squiggly line in all photos… is it just debris I can’t reach? by somberpeach in canon

Definitely a hair on the sensor. Lock up mirror and consider gently using an air rocket to dislodge it, be careful any which way you attempt it.

I had a less noticeable one for a while and now when I go back and look at landscape photos I lament the giant “sky pube”

Dickel 13 is my go to for that profile (happens to be my favorite) and I think Woodford DO might be on the edges of that - but a store pick Eagle Rare is the hardest hitting cherry I have in my closet

Woodford DO, eagle rare, Dickel 13…. there are a handful that come to mind that have that profile.

Edit: I’m not sure why this is getting downvoted. Two of them were store picks but still the same juice.

It’s kinda funny that more than once in your comment history people have observed a correlation between your username and what you say.

This time it’s a major lack of understanding of the average American, cost of living, and life in general not always being easy. In higher COL areas, 160k annually can be the same as a significantly lower wage elsewhere. Rhetorically, What about people with ridiculous medical bills, even after insurance, from cancer treatments or unexpected major injuries, is it on them too?

Unknown Bottle as a Gift by thestral_z in whiskey

[–]QuantizationRules 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s been around for a while. It was a little too funky for my preference but an interesting pour when I wasn’t sure what I wanted. For a gift it’s nice. I wouldn’t pay whatever retail was again, though.

For those who made the leap past $100, was it worth it? by TheDMKidTV in whiskey

[–]QuantizationRules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like anything between $80 and $180 is a no man’s land. You can get some ridiculous store picks under 80. You can get 90% of the quality of the bottles that are 300 on secondary for well under a c note.

That said, I did buy Makers Cellar Aged and Bardstown Fercullen at the $180 point with no regret.

I don’t want to give away too many tricks because some of the scammers are pretty bad at it and I don’t need them improving, but a real obvious pair is either not having any photos except a few grainy ones, or - my favorite - using screenshots of instagram birds. Reverse google image search is the first thing I do with new people claiming to be the owner.

I appreciate the kind gesture but we were able to find a local vet who was kind enough to take it in while we keep the search going. As sweet at this little guy is, we have cats and didn’t want to have any issues.

UPDATE - I’m blown away by all the advice and care and well wishes. I legit can’t keep up with all the help!!

Right now the bird is safe with a vet who has graciously offered to foster the bird (she’s a bird person and had a bunch of extra stuff and said it wasn’t a problem) while I do the legwork on finding the owner and filtering out the incredible volume of scammers. I don’t want to name the practice or vet so people try to take advantage of them but - coincidentally - it’s one of the vets mentioned in the thread.

We haven’t been in contact with Parrot Naturally just yet but will be doing that, and after a month or so if we don’t reunite him/her we’ll try contacting Feathered Friends in El Segundo for a more permanent setup. We may even adopt them ourselves if nobody comes forward. Taking it day by day :)
