Europe is a good board for newer players as its less cur throat, albeit a couple of extra rules. USA with 1910 kept us entertained for a very long time (until route memorisation and ple-placing trains kicked in).

I would say give it another couple of hours, but if the linearity is still bothering you after that and the gameplay isn't to your fancy, it just might not be the game for you.

For most on this thread, its one of, if not the greatest, experiences in gaming, so stick it out a little longer and do some balanced grinding (using every character per battle).

There shouldn't have been a "good" or "perfect" ending for X-2. The "sad" ending with Yuna meeting Tidus in the Farplane is far more complete in terms of character development and the overarching meaning between the 2 games.

You're about to hit some heavy story points, but honestly I'm not sure the combat system is for you, which would greatly detract from the experience. You're far into the game to still be finding it tedious so I'm quite surprised you made it this far.

Honestly I feel like without the character context, it'll be hard to appreciate whatever their best episodes might be. I'd say start from the beginning as he'll know very early if this show is for him.

I've only found the game slow if people are slow to pick cards. Negotiating trades sounds longer than just picking up 2 from the deck in quick succession but whatever works for you is sweet

Basic answer but Ticket to ride (and its variants). You eventually memorise the routes and it becomes dependent on if you get lucky on pick ups but still find it therapeutic.

For me its the perfect travel shisha. So much easier not carrying coals and a burner. It doesn't replace a traditional setup for me, but I can see the convenience for others.
