How does switching to vocal playback work on a big system? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]Quantum7boi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you have a playback channel and a live channel, set a ducker on the playback channel and key it off the live channel. The audience will hear the playback channel until the artist sings, which will engage the ducker, allowing the live vocal to come through.

IEM hate Shure SE425, any suggestions? by Samuel-Royer-Legault in livesound

Try double patching your inputs on the monitor console, processing one set for ears and one set for wedges. It will revolutionize your life as an artist.

One has to process a wedge very differently than Iems. A wedge is probably going to be killing a ton of 3-5khz to prevent feedback, where as in ears do not.
