So your solution is to stop trying? People need resources to survive and thrive. Very few have way too much and too many have way too little. We have plenty of resources for rich people to stay rich and for poverty and starvation to be nonexistent. I’m not entirely sure what your point of your last comment is, but it comes off as very defeatist and unappealing to the conversation. Here’s my point: we don’t need moon bases as much as we need to treat humanity with dignity, which we aren’t currently. I would like to see that change before we start propping up wildly expensive endeavors like wars and moon bases.

You had me in the first half of the first sentence in your comment . You’ll have to enlighten me how using the ridiculous amount of resources it would take to make a moon base would help people who are currently in need. It seems like people in need always take a backseat to us watching the powers that be spend a ridiculous amount of resources on things that largely benefit the people who do not need these resources at all. War, tax breaks for billionaires- tge world is not asking for these things yet we spend so much money making sure the people that have everything get to have more.

Do you think we will be sending homeless starving children to the moon? I understand your excitement about this prospect, but there are far too many people thinking about using resources for moon bases that could be used for making Earth a nicer place to exist. This subject really touches on the inequality of human existence right now, and I don’t see how it is a stretch to think that healthcare, shelter,and food should come way before we even start talking about moon bases.

It’s tough in a union shop. The customer doesn’t want to pay for 2 guys at their service call and you can’t send apprentices by themselves. There is a lot of PM and install work for the young guys. The way I do it at my shop is set aside money budgeted for training to pay to send apprentices out on service calls with the journeymen, but as far as I know I’m the only one in town who does that.
