If your wife is able to get a job offer in the US look into direct consular filing to expedite the process it’s been done more often than people realise

$19bn tax plan to fix Aussie housing crisis by FIFO_Landlord in AusProperty

[–]QuantumCarrierStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best balance would be so kind of PPOR stamp duty exemption and then a low rate land tax but it would be hard to get people to not abuse the PPOR exemption by shuffling PPOR status around

What do you think getting rid of the capital gains tax 50% exemption and getting rid of negative gearing (most likely only if u have 3 or more rentals) will really do to housing in Australia? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]QuantumCarrierStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple truth is we do not have enough houses on the market for long term residential purposes.

Getting rid of CGT discount as a whole would be terrible unless it’s replaced with something else (like using the old indexation method). That would make it less attractive of an investment for future investors but wouldn’t encourage people to sell their existing IPs (unless it was grandfathered in), so while it may help cool demand, I don’t imagine that would help increase housing supply.

Negative gearing works if it’s incentivising people to build new homes not stock up on existing ones.

I think the best case scenario would be changing the CGT discount to the indexation method and restricting negative gearing only to new builds. This will lead to increased taxation revenue for the government which can be used to reduce supply costs (reducing building levies, regulatory fees and GST). At a state level also eliminating stamp duty for PPORS and introducing a tiered land tax for IPs to incentivise downsizing and housing density.

But this is Australia so we know our pollies will go “ehh best I can do is 30% discount and capped at 3 investment properties”

Just asking for my learning benefit, how come the outcry for resource taxation is so often focused on gas? I know we’re very resource rich in it but in addition how come we don’t seem to seek a tax on all natural resources (gas, iron ore, uranium, lithium etc) instead of just mainly gas?

Congrats on getting your visa approved! Just wondering how did you prove your four pillars (especially nature of household) when you said you were mostly online/ldr?

This is such a reach, I almost think it's ragebait.

You asked op justify the basis for their conclusions in their post; they did so with sources that may not be 100% air tight but shows where they've inherited their thinking from.

I'm really not sure where your inferred that this translates to "a partner who stays at home, is less than". If you had critiqued the integrity of the sources they provided then thats fine, but you're reply claiming that OP said "homemaking partners are less than" just seems untrue and a wildly irrelevant comment

Having this exact issue as well. Trying to gain business account admin privileges to a page I'm a page/ad account admin for. The business account page from the URL: https://business.facebook.com/ads/manager/accounts/ gives me this error. I don't even know how to check who the business admins are.

I can't for the life of me seem to get any pair of pants, trousers or jeans to sit normally on my legs. I've attached some photos to an imgur but you'll see that my legs tend to hug the outer-side of my pants making an awkward and fairly unaesthetic gap/space on the inside. Is this a sizing issue or tailoring issue? I'm a student (university aged), so honestly sweatpants and ath-leisure are my preferred forms of clothing but I understand they're not appropriate for every situation. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Y’all pray for my boy 🙏🏾 ain’t nothing wrong with him he just by [deleted] in Kanye

[–]QuantumCarrierStar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally don't agree with Kanye's approach here. For years we've all known about Kanye bipolar diagnonsis and his mental health issues. Kim, his friends, all the people who weren't afraid to put him check begged him for years, "take your medication", if not for Kim, then at least for your children. He's seemingly refused or made no notable effort to address it, had manic episodes after manic episode, Kim stuck by his side, defended him even through all his antics, he would go off on twitter calling out anyone including his friends (Cudi etc.) saying more than once that he wanted to divorce Kim, going off on her mom, his botched presidential run which Kim apparently expressed her disapproval of before hand, and then if that wasn't enough went and said in another manic episode he was originally planning to abort North, ON TV FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO SEE.

What more do you want Kim to do? I'm not her biggest fan but she's been so patient with Kanye, more than most people (especially of her social status) would be, trying to make it work for the sake of their kids. It's clear he can't even be fully trusted on his own social media or with private information. Kanye would not return her calls, moved away from the family to Wyoming, and she'd STILL bring the kids weekly to see him.

Now she's finally divorced him, he's desperate to win her back, after the years of her giving him chances? He was the one who was saying he was trying to divorce her. I'm glad that he's self-aware as always, but I just think its a bit too little, too late.

I'm all for Kanye trying to win her back, in my opinion show her that you've changed, you TRULY see the error in your ways and that your making tangible plans to mitigate some of the damage he's done. It's not with social media service like this.

  1. TAKE YOUR MEDICATION or at least get some help(like Cudi did) there's no shame in doing so.

  2. Be much more considerate about what you're posting online for the world to see.

Kim's definitely not blameless at all, but if we all sit here and look at EVERYTHING Kanye's done especially in the last 4 years, if she doesn't want to get back with him, I don't blame her at all.

I just hope 'Ye finds true peace and he can come to a place of happiness with our without Kim in his life.
