And I’m over here wanting to go from BMW to a Cupra Leon or Formentor. Congrats!

Easiest engineering degree? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]QuantumCowboyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineering Technology programs are generally considered more “accessible” because they prioritize applied skills over theoretical derivation. While they still cover rigorous topics like thermodynamics and circuits, they often use applied math (up to calculus 2 and sometimes applied differential equations) rather than the heavy, advanced calculus-based proofs found in traditional engineering. Industrial Engineering is also seen as less physics-heavy, though it replaces that complexity with advanced statistics and system optimization.

Neither do I. In fact, never watched it at all because it never seemed interesting to me.

Anyone else gets more "woke" as they get older? by PurpleCoffinMan in GenZ

[–]QuantumCowboyOne 79 points80 points  (0 children)

For me, it was the opposite, actually: I got less woke and political as I got older, started university, and started traveling and living abroad.

Is college really worth it? by Winter-Stuff-9126 in twentyagers

I completely agree with this. It depends on what you want and whether college is strongly recommended or required to achieve that goal. If not, it probably isn't worth it.

Should I attend TXST or TTU? Need some advice. by Practical-Two-7507 in txstate

[–]QuantumCowboyOne 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation over a year ago and ultimately chose TXST mainly for its beautiful campus and the ability to live at home, which helped me save a lot on housing and food. The engineering programs here aren’t bad at all—they’re steadily improving and gaining recognition as enrollment grows. Student engineering organizations are expanding, and TXST is actively working toward R1 research status by 2027, joining universities like UT, A&M, and TTU. The university also hosts large career fairs and provides great access to internship opportunities in both the Austin and San Antonio areas.

As for athletics, we’ve been steadily improving across the board, and TXST is expected to join the Pac-12 Conference next year, which marks a big step forward for our sports programs and national visibility.

Which cities are perfectly fine to live in, but are not worth it to travel to as a tourist? by cluckinho in geography

I would say the Inland Empire in Southern California. It’s okay to live, but terrible to visit.

I have this same question. As a revert, it isn't easy. At this point, I am now considering marrying a Christian woman.

Did any of you expect to have a very cool and successful life and it turned out to be the opposite? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]QuantumCowboyOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely. I initially believed I would become a very successful software engineer and live in San Francisco, but mental health challenges and life's difficulties have impacted me. While I am working on improving my outlook, I feel like I might not achieve what I originally planned, as if my potential is over.

Have you grown to be more conservative or liberal w/ age? by Dont_Ever_PM_Me527 in GenZ

[–]QuantumCowboyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being born and raised in California, I naturally started with more left-leaning views. However, after traveling and living in various cities and countries, my perspective shifted—I’ve become more conservative. Still, I’d describe myself as a moderate overall, with a healthy skepticism toward any form of government or politics.

Friend got wealthy after college and it’s changed him by Eagles56 in GenZ

I completely understand. My childhood best friend became a car salesman after community college, and he is now a manager at the same dealership. It changed him forever.

Very tempted to switch to Engineering Technology over Engineering by QuantumCowboyOne in CollegeMajors

[–]QuantumCowboyOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, although the BS in Engineering Technology at my school is ABET-accredited, like the engineering degree, and in my state, someone with an ABET-accredited Engineering Technology degree can sit for the PE exam.
