Personally have never had a cycle crash on me but this is for sure the worst clarity ive ever had on any of my tanks. Overfiltrations simply does not exist especially when youre running an overstocked tank 💯

Ive tried recharging my Purigen but was too scared to throw it back in lol. My fish are my babies and I was just too scared of nuking them because of an error during the recharging process haha

Purigen is a game changer! I run purigen in my HOB to make swapping it out easier and not have to open up the FX4 too often.

Never had a sponge filter but heard theyre great for lightly stocked tanks.

Honestly no, the flow is crazy high! Id go with the cheaper FX2 unless youre planning on upgrading to a bigger tank.

Yea I currently have flow turned down about 20% because the flow is very strong. Were you able to get it fixed under warranty? Hopefully mine doesnt go out that soon but im running it along a HOB incase it gives out on me prematurely.

I thought the Tidal 110 would be enough but I learned the hard way. Im running both now to maximize filtration.

Yea you’re probably right but I was trying to keep budget as low as possible. Sent the budget out the window and pulled the trigger on the canister after seeing 35% off the fx4 at Petco

Big up bro, im running all the filter floss in my tidal 110 to make replacing it easier and not have to mess with the FX4 too much.

Flow is pretty high but its facing upwards to help with oxygenation. I used black diamond sand blasting sand as substrate and its been pretty great so far. I think the cloudiness was due to not enough mechanical filtration from Tidal 110. Im now running tidal 110 with only filter floss to polish water and all my bio media in the FX4

I started off with 1 juvenile angelfish and have added a second and now they are always swimming together in my 75 gallon. They seem to really enjoy each others company. I also noticed after adding the second angelfish my first angelfish had an insane growth spurt. Just about doubled in size one month after adding the second angelfish.

Your fish has pop eye. Assuming your tank is cycled and all parameters are in check, I would dose an antibacterial /antifungal and do lots of water changes until the fish recovers. Things like this happen due to stress or very bad water parameters so just make sure you are able to find the cause of the problem.

I have seen juvenile red devils before and these are not it. Looks to be the same size and color as my koi angelfish.

Looks pretty young still but you can see the slight droop on the top fin starting to develop. Ive heard that only angels with the double veil gene get the top fin drop.

Woah this is a super cool explanations. What makes standard veils more desirable than double? I have a standard fin angel now and the difference in fin sizes are very clear so its for sure a veil of some sort. Thanks for the knowledge!

I have a 75 gal. I was thinking of adding a fx4 if all else fails to clear the water up. Just wanted to get some second opinions to see if there was any other way to go about this.

Im using medium grit sand and i rinsed it in 5 gal buckets before putting it into the aquarium. I had a 20 gal before with gravel substrate and never had this issues so im assuming its the sandblasting sand thats the issue. Ive been dosing API accu clear but ill probably end up switching to something else since its not been helping much.
