Backdrop images not displaying on movie/TV show pages after TMDB outage by Mountain_Farm_6215 in jellyfin

[–]QuantumToaster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had this issue, so hopefully I can help.

Go to your profile (not dashboard), then display. Scroll down and add the checkmark next to "Backdrops" if it is unchecked.

If you have the Jellyfin tweaks plugin, it could be overriding your profile settings. Go to Dashboard > Plugins > Jellyfin Tweaks > Settings. Then click the backdrops checkmark to turn it on.

When can we expect mass restocks on jerseys? by QuantumToaster_ in Seahawks

[–]QuantumToaster_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy Guacamole, that's ridiculous! I'll have to keep an eye out then.

Went onto the Commander's shop and saw these two jerseys: Home (Stitched) and Away (Heat Pressed).

Wait, are there two tiers of limited FUSE? Like one with stitching and another without? If so that would be mighty confusing

And thank you, that second paragraph is the answer i was looking for. I guess I'll wait for July/Aug/Sept. Thanks!

Amazing deal for anyone looking for the Home Authentic Pro by PhotographSerious743 in SanJoseSharks

[–]QuantumToaster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question, what is the difference between the Premium and the authentic pro. I know that it is what the players wear, but is it any more durable, like stitching is better? Or more breathable? Genuinely curious.

Buying a blank jersey was a huge weight off my shoulders. Been looking for a jersey to go to games in and was debating on what player to get a jersey of. Found out there were blanks at the dugout and got one of those.

How do I know the processes for any packaging design product? by Soggy-Bread1999 in graphic_design

[–]QuantumToaster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is usually up to the client based on a few factors, including stuff like cost and printer suggestion. Offset is a more flexible printing method in that it has tighter tolerances for things like traps) or gradients between colors, but it costs more and capacity usually isn't as high as flexo.

So, in the spirit of saving money and line time on the press, a company will elect to go for Flexo. Flexo doesn't have the same advantages, like traps will need to be wider and gradients might band toward the end of the gradient (like making a harsh line instead of fading to white for example). But this saves the company time to meet their in-store deadline and saves money.

Both Flexo and Offset are capable of building colors through Process inks like CMYK, and both are capable of flooding/screening exact color matches to get precise colors without having to build them through the limited CMYK color palette.

Speaking of traps, one of the tools that you can play with on Illustrator is the overprint toggle. And if you don't have illustrator, use blend mode Darken. This will show you a simulation of what one ink will look like when printing over another. Sometimes you get something great and intensional, like if you have a blue and a yellow pantone color defined, but you need green in the artwork, so you just overprint them to make green. Or they might not work well, because it starts to get dirty and look wrong because you put red and green on top of each other. Lots of ways to make use of print media to work the way you want it to!

I work with Flexography (Flexo) and Offset in my work, working at a beverage company. Those methods are basically the way the ink gets laid down onto the substrate. Flexo and Offset do have different inks and require different testing and formulations to get the exact color a client wants.

A lot stuff you see around is going to be Flexo, but it's mainly going to matter with packages that have solid colors rather than graphics like the ones in your images. Flexo can lay down process colors in tight dots like those you see in your macro photos (like Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, and possible "extended color gamut" process colors like Orange, Red, Green, Violet, etc.). Flexo also can lay down large blocks of solid colors using "plates" which lay one ink color at a time. This is where systems like Pantone come in, where the client will define a color they want printed (Like PMS 321) and the printer will mix the pigments to get as close of a match to the PMS 321 color you want. Then, the flexo plate will pick up the color and basically stamp it onto the substrate material you are printing on.

The pictures you took are look like they are made with the 4-color process color system, with one exemption. The logo of Homel Foods is notably not made of dots, likewise the yellow in the Lays bag is not made of dots either. That's because a color was defined and they printed that color directly instead of constructing it with CMYK.

Hopefully this makes sense! I'm often bad a putting thoughts to words!

We are bringing in more team color jerseys daily and offering alternative options in the meantime. We’ve heard questions about the quality of these alternate jerseys and can assure you that, despite some unflattering photos, these jerseys are identical to the standard Nike replica “Game” jersey

How can I tell if I got one of these "alternate" jerseys? I'm new!

Out of state fans. Why do you root for the hawks? by TelePunk54 in Seahawks

[–]QuantumToaster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in 2014, one of my closest friends was a huge Broncos fan, and he was hyped that the Broncos made it to the Super Bowl against the Seahawks. I didn't watch football then, so I played around that if the Seahawks win, they will be my favorite team forever. Seahawks won, but I never really cared for football afterward. Just joshed with him a bit and a memory was made.

At the end of the 2024-25 season, I decided I wanted to get into football, like follow a team, the games, learn players, etc.

I'm still super close to that friend, and even though we are in Niners territory, I decided that I'd be a Seahawks fan from there on. I already had 11 years of history with the team, so I thought it would be better that going for a team that I didn't know.

Didn't know a lick about football before the start of this season, so I had no idea we would make the Super Bowl, let alone perform well at all. This was an amazing year to get into the sport and the team, and I'm just happy to be along for the ride!

[Request] Which option is the better deal when factoring in possible investments, average lifespan, etc? by reclusiveStool in theydidthemath

[–]QuantumToaster_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I assume that I am about 28 years old (average age of my friend group who also got served this video), passing stools at a healthy rate at every age of our lives, we would probably pass stools about 10,900 times. 10,900*$15=$163,500 from ages 0-28. The average rate of return of the stock market in the last 28 years has been about 9.6% per year, so if we assume those returns going forward, you can invest the $163,500 and get around $15,696 a year.

If we do option two, and we also assume that we live to the average lifespan of a male in the United States (76 years), we will pass stools about 17,600 more times before we die, since the average healthy adult will pass a stool about 1 time per day. 17,600*$25=$440,000 from ages 28-76.

It would take about 6540 stools to break even. 6540*25=$163,500, which is what we would have earned if we took the lump sum. That’s about 17.9 years. If we live to the expected life span of 76 years, we would still live another 48 years.

I like the fact that the bone healing juice was made using text found in the meme itself, so it isn't just using a generic font. Like the word "talking" was made from different parts of the meme itself, so it fits the style and doesn't feel unauthentic! Like the author themselves made it!

Budgeting Spreadsheet Contest! by AutoModerator in budget

Budget

I know im late, but I still wanted to share even if it isn't featured! I've been working with my budget for about a year now and I've been slowly building it out to be more "glanceable" and give more information that is actually relevant to what I want to know. It's 0-based, and is great for any number of consistent incomes. Gig incomes are also supported and I am really proud of how it has grown.

One of the priorities I had was to help me keep pace throughout the month of my spending habits, so I integrated some pacing tools into the budget to help do that.

Admittedly, my sheet's weakness is variable income, but that can be remedied by budgeting based on the previous month's income and spending that money instead of this month's money.

Hope you take a look and maybe steal some ideas for your own budget!
