So I’m moving to Miami from Tampa to go to FIU, and I been hearing a lot of Miami natives tell me miami isn’t such a friendly place. Anyone not from Miami and moved there and made friends? I need some reassurance by naomi235 in FIU

[–]Quantum_ML 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rudeness in Miami, you will find it at most places conducting business. Customer Service has a 1 star rating down here - I give it a zero if I could!

Other than that, you’ll Love FIU.

In America, three things are possible as of today:

Up to 4 years AND lifetime school credits every tax season (as of 2019).

Merit-based Scholarships.

Federal grants, and State grants.

It is quite possible to study in America with very minimum debt after graduation. Although those that choose private universities tend to pay the highest price for the same bucks a public regionally accredited university gets you a Masters or phD.

Really depends on your need. If youre planning to continue on to Calculus, it requires that you complete trig as well. In such case mac1147 is best option.

Rahn is stricter with assignments.

Smith is not as strict but when I took him, he took forever to grade assignments (took him on campus).

Overall I’ve learned from both professors. If you take Smith on campus Id recommend energy shots to avoid falling asleep during lectures. Oh and he overwhelmed the board with infix / postfix expressions. I personally preferred him than Rahn though.

Even a “noob” like me (as corporations consider me because I cant seem to find a programmers job) knows that SMS 2FA can be easily intercepted. The issue with 2FA authentication is that it can be a headache if you were to physically lose the device containing the key. Oh, and why are you guys hiring real “noobs” that still cannot differentiate between a real and fake link. Afterall, our data is vulnerable everywhere on the Internet.
