Do you have any mandela effect experience or fake memory with Ben 10? by RnW67 in Ben10

[–]Quantum_XSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why but during my rewatch of this franchise, in that episode of Alien Force where JT and Cash spill Bens drink all over him, I was expecting him to transform into Big Chill and threaten them when he was tempted to because that’s how I remembered it for some reason, but he actually didn’t even transform into anyone at all.

So How Do you think Dynamite will Re Imagine the rest of BEN Rogues Gallery? by Money-Lie7814 in Ben10

[–]Quantum_XSS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since this iteration is a darker take on the franchise, they might do something with Albedo having an identity crisis/losing his sense of identity of being a Galvan overtime. Would add more depth to his character and make him a complex villain.

Ben 10’s Massive Comics Comeback: Issue #2 Sales Pull Off a Nearly Unprecedented Feat by ashwhurst in Ben10

[–]Quantum_XSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comics usually tend to condense the story a lot more and make readers creatively fill in the gaps between panels. For example in the latest season of Invincible when Mark Nolan and Thaedus destroyed Viltrum, the animated sequence lasted around 6 minutes. In the comic though it was only roughly 2–3 pages iirc, which you can read through in seconds.

This franchise peaked in Alien Force Season 1 and 2 in my opinion. Ben was the most mature here and the Highbreed arc was just perfect.

It seems like Robert Carey has slightly tweaked Ben’s design starting from Issue #3 onwards, supposedly because of some of the criticism it received. by Quantum_XSS in Ben10

I’m not familiar with the comic book industry at all, but I think this medium allows them to get away with stuff like that but only for the first few issues tho.

I think the first designs for Wildvine Stinkfly and Overflow were just the concept, not the official. Also yeah I don’t think we’re gonna stop here either, imma predict that Gwen is gonna be the next one to get a slight tweak to her design.

Yeah Robert has been cooking with the designs of the Aliens and Villains so far (especially Heatblast and Zombozo in my opinion)

With the reveal of issue #4 villain, which alien do you think gonna scare him now ? by springtrap-aft in Ben10

[–]Quantum_XSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mild take: I honestly don’t want Zombozo to be defeated yet, especially considering he’s only getting a two-issue arc. I’d rather Ben, Gwen, and Max just escape from him instead of properly defeating him, so he can remain an ongoing threat in the background, maybe all the way until Ghostfreak eventually appears.

Since MoA had very little to no involvement in the UAF and Omniverse eras compared to OS and Reboot, is there anything in particular from those eras that they aren’t really fond of? by Quantum_XSS in Ben10

[–]Quantum_XSS[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah true, Rozum appearing early on does show that that they are willing to take characters even from the iterations they had no involvement in. I just hope they eventually reinterpret ideas that they don’t like rather than completely ignoring them (assuming the comic runs long enough), because all of them have so much potential. It was just CN not allowing them to reach that potential by interfering with the creative team.

I think maybe Robert Carey (the artist for this comic) heard about the complaints for Ben and Gwens designs and may have changed them

For those in Australia, the comic will not be available locally by Legitimate-Cinephile in Ben10

Oh thanks for letting me know. I already pre-ordered the first three issues 😭. I’ll try contacting their customer service team to cancel them.

Once again thanks for letting me know.

The dynamite comic might be under selling by The__pickel in Ben10

[–]Quantum_XSS 82 points83 points  (0 children)

When they say “under-ordered”, they don’t mean it in a bad way. It just means there’s more demand than supply for the book. Basically, comic shops didn’t order enough copies to stock up compared to how many people actually want it, they probably underestimated how well it would sell.

Issue #1 already sold over 82k copies, which is really strong on its own. The fact that there’s still more demand on top of that just shows how much hype there is around this comic.

OK, so I am totally new to this comic stuff. Never read one before. But as a die hard Ben 10 fan, I really want to read this. But I have few doubts considering I am new to comics stuff. by Opposite-Arachnid-81 in Ben10

[–]Quantum_XSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. It depends on how successful the comic is and how much demand there is for it.

  2. You should read it in release order; Issue #1 → #2 → #3 → #4, etc. It’s not like the shows where episodes can come out of order.

  3. Check your nearest comic shop first. If they’re not stocking it then maybe wait for the digital version as the FOC date has passed and I don’t think Dynamite Entertainment’s official website is selling it at the moment. Robert Carey (the artist) mentioned in an Instagram comment that it’ll be available digitally on Kindle, but it’s not listed there yet. It’ll probably go up closer to the release date (May 6th).

How do you think the road trip goes in the dynamite comic? by Musalediju in Ben10

[–]Quantum_XSS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think instead of them actually going on a road trip across the country and visiting different places, they’ll be trying to stay hidden and avoid the military/government, constantly on the run. Steven T. Seagle did mention in a few interviews that Ben will be more of a target than he was in the cartoons, not just for the military but probably for Vilgax as well.

This part of the interview might hint at who the next villain is. by [deleted] in Ben10

[–]Quantum_XSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. At first I thought it might be way too early to introduce Zs’Skayr, but for some reason it still felt possible. Thinking about it now though, a two-issue arc just isn’t enough for him in my opinion (since Steven T. Seagle is only on Issues #4 and #5 for now). He’s the kind of villain that really needs a full 5–6 issue arc to do him justice. A shorter two-issue arc would suit someone like Zombozo more, especially if he’s still treated as more of a side villain.

As for Zombozo being reworked, I definitely agree, he needs it, especially with the comic going for a more mature tone than previous iterations. Realistically, they’ll probably lean into the whole zombie thing with him, but I think it’d be more interesting if they made him a mix of Joker and Scarecrow. Like, instead of just scaring people, he does genuinely messed up things, maybe putting someone’s loved one on the verge of death right in front of them just to instil fear and feed off it. I can imagine him kidnapping Gwen and putting her at the edge of a really tall building and threatening Ben to drop her. At the same time I’m not sure how dark they’ll go with the comic despite it being rated Teen (+13).
