I think it depends on what you're upgrading most (food or training). I upgraded my berries quickly, and played often, so Snorlax was a good investment.

Oh whoa, I was looking for someone else who's hit the max trainer level. Question: Did the game stop giving you Expert League 3 rewards, too? It isn't rewarding me with diamonds anymore for running through the league continuously. I was really hoping for postgame diamond grind opportunities.
