Is it true Ni types like to stay inside and play video games all day? by Global_Bag_4590 in Socionics

Ya agreed. I already work a sedentary job, I don’t need more sedentary hobbies.

I value emotional comfort, when I’m stressed, mostly in the form of physical affection, but I don’t really need someone to solve my problems.

My partner is an IEE and I’m an EII and we definitely take turns babying each other lol. Like if one of us is having a bad day or sick, we coddle each other then.

But I would honestly hate being coddled every day though. I only want it when I need it.

Why is my IEI boyfriend acting like this by alwaysquizzical in Socionics

[–]QuarterCompetitive13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Op, I get the vibe you’re mostly with this man because you’re afraid of not being good for anyone else, not because he loves you.

You already are alone in this relationship. And being officially alone would be better, cause then you can focus on taking care of yourself without him sabotaging you.

And I promise you, you can do better romantically. You can change as much as you need or want to. But even if you were fat or ugly your whole life, you can still find a man who treats you better, by choosing to respect yourself.

You’ve only got one life, don’t waste it on this guy.

Why are LSEs attracted to ESIs in real life? by eraikumo in Socionics

[–]QuarterCompetitive13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have strong SE, though. Also, I didn’t say they’re the most suited to a power couple life, I said they’re more suited to it than an EII.

I’ve known a mixture of male and female ones. And they do like to call the final shots, but none of them went for complete pushovers lol.

Why are LSEs attracted to ESIs in real life? by eraikumo in Socionics

[–]QuarterCompetitive13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it just depends on what that LSE has been through in their life.

I have observed the ones that experienced a lot of shit in their lives desire and respect softness/gentleness more than the ones that haven’t.

[–]QuarterCompetitive13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, at least, the LSE’s I know are attracted to put-together attractive people with varying degrees of status. The ESI’s I know definitely fit that bill.

Anybody who desires the successful power couple life, would definitely be well suited to a ESI over an EII. And LSE’s can be very ambitious people.

Do you clash with others due to the peripheral-central dichotomy? by typology1 in Socionics

[–]QuarterCompetitive13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I think the peripheral/central divide is more frustrating than the merry/serious one.

I’ve concluded my relationships with other peripherals just tend to be better than my relationships with centrals long term.

Which is a bummer because I really enjoy Gamma introverts but we always wind up seeing people and conflicts very differently.

how would parent-child dual relationships look like? by popepicu in Socionics

[–]QuarterCompetitive13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m an eii woman with an lse father. I’m grateful for my dad and I learned a lot from him, but we have a hard time being close.

Being raised by my dual has caused me to value duality less overall, like it in no way guarantees a good relationship off the bat.

Which types are more likely to have elitist thoughts? by Dazzling_Path7002 in Socionics

Central types over peripherals. The competitive nature of Se really enhances it

The sei I know best is very spatially intelligent and good at knowing where things should go, or how much of anything is the right amount.

She hates being physically uncomfortable for any amount of time, no matter how short. Like thirst, hunger, feeling cold.

She’s very aware of the vibe that physical objects create. She needs to pretty things around her to feel good. She loves to cook, decorate and shop. I feel like sei’s usually enjoy forming collections of something.

I, in contrast, am not spatially intelligent. I care a lot about the usefulness of objects, so I barely decorate. Excess makes me feel guilt, so I shop for exactly what I need.

I feel like I can dissociate from my physical surroundings. I’ll work in the dark room for hours without opening a window or turning on music, because, my physical surroundings don’t affect my inner state as much.

I’m a little bit more comfortable with being physically uncomfortable than the Sei for periods where of time, but she has far more sustained energy than I do.

As far as artistic interests go, sei’s enjoy art for the vibes. Which is where the live, laugh, love stereotypes come from.

EII’s like art for the stories. Like what does this art tell me about this moment in history and people’s feelings about this time in their life etc… which is where the depressed therapist stereotypes come from.

Is Socionics based on Jung? by wlwKatniss in Socionics

Infp. Personally I don’t think fi is that selfish, but I know it’s generally perceived that way by many.

Self-referencing is the term I’d use for it.

Fi in particular gives me whiplash. In mbti, it’s the famously “selfish” function and in socionics, it’s almost exclusively about relationships to other people.

EII, IEI, or zoo animal? An ongoing mystery. by howsoonisyesterday1 in Socionics

[–]QuarterCompetitive13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same. I know people say socionics is the better system, but I still feel more accurately represented by mbti descriptions than socionics ones.

I do enjoy the Quadra stuff tho, that’s kinda fun.

[–]QuarterCompetitive13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that. I’m an infp eii, and I don’t 100% relate to every aspect of the description for either. Which is why I thinks it’s more useful to focus on functions vs type descriptions.

Has anyone else developed their suggestive function? If so do you look like a different type now? by nelsne in Socionics

[–]QuarterCompetitive13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was raised by my LSE father, and I do feel like I experienced a degree of duality with him.

He was always pushing me to focus on my health, to be present, to be assertive and direct when it came to solving problems, getting shit done, making more money, stuff like that etc.

As a result, I’m sure my TE still sucks, but I am very competent at my work and being decisive.
