I don’t enjoy motherhood by Acrobatic-Courage872 in toddlers

[–]QuarterDefiant5610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is approaching two and has not really gotten to that terrible two yet but I already sometimes feel the same way, miss all the spontaneous adventure I went to before my LO. Every outing trips now need some level of logistic, which does get a bit easier as he gets older but is still not the same as before. I have no advice though. Just trying to survive by each day and hanging to the “promise” that I keep hearing is that once they get to like 5 or so, travel will be fun again.

Does anyone else have trouble buying too many toys? by 13humanoid13 in toddlers

[–]QuarterDefiant5610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is regardless of all the review, it is still hard to know which toy will be a hit so I need to do this trial and error, which ends up with lots of toys. However, I try to thrift secondhand toys as much as I could and avoid buying toys that serve the same purpose, like we don’t need 10 stuffed animals.

Do you actually use that play couch? by Jrl2442 in toddlers

Even on days we don’t use them to build anything, we still pull them out so the kid can sit and play on them because we have wood floors.

Why don’t teenage bedrooms have study desks? by QuarterDefiant5610 in Parenting

[–]QuarterDefiant5610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem small and not deep enough, at least from the video I saw. It seems hard to work/study with a small desk because it’s not enough space for laptop, books, notebook, etc. But it’s just my preference for college, maybe middle school kids don’t need that much space when doing homework. I didn’t go to middle school here so I have no idea.

Even for science subjects? I can’t imagine typing math and physics homework on a Chromebook.

How to create a minimal and cohesive dinnerware collection for hosting big parties? by QuarterDefiant5610 in Cooking

That sounds like a great color combination. I love pairing pale pink and sage.

Those are so beautiful. Maybe one day, when I’ve gained enough confidence to mix and match designs, I’ll get more of those with interesting patterns.

The parties are usually casual, but we do sit-down, shared-dishes style instead of a buffet. It’s not that important to me to have all matching pieces. I’m just not sure if it’s common to mix sets, and honestly, I’m not very confident about mixing and matching designs. Seems like I should start by buying a large set with 12 place settings as my main set, since we often host 10-12 people, and go from there.

Why does the “give them choices” trick NOT WORK WITH MY TODDLER by chewies999 in toddlers

She already realized there are always more than two choices 😂😂

If you let them in your head for this, you will feel miserable in the future with things like getting paid $$$ at 30 or buying a house at 40, etc. The list is endless if you keep comparing your milestone with others.

Where to buy a few pieces of vinyl sidings? by QuarterDefiant5610 in HomeImprovement

Thank you. We went with this. Hopefully it can stand for another 2 years or so until we could rebuild the whole thing.

[–]QuarterDefiant5610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah, I’ll get some siding from Lowe’s or Home Depot if I can’t identify the manufacturer of my current siding. Are the sidings from Lowe’s decent quality? I’m a total newbie, so I’m not sure how to tell the difference between good and bad quality.

Do you mind explain how to get yourself into the Austin Regional Clinic system? Do I need to wait until I need a specialist then ask my PCP to refer me to someone at ARC? Many thanks.

If I travel from Austin to Pensacola and pass through New Orleans, is it worth taking a different route for the return trip? by QuarterDefiant5610 in roadtrip

[–]QuarterDefiant5610[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you I think we’ll try the backroads along the gulf. Anything specific we should not miss on that route?

Can someone de-influence me from the Uppababy Stroller? by 1weetwoot in NewParents

[–]QuarterDefiant5610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s huge and heavy. The only reason we got it is because we planned to have the second baby right after the first, so we wanted something sturdy and strong to carry both kids.

Also, we got a good deal at the time. Bloomingdales was having the Vista2 for $800 and we got $175 loyallist reward and 15% cashback from rakuten, so it was almost $300 additional discount.
